I'm not up on that one, but I will retro-predict real, real bad results. It may be how seppuku, or rather, jigai, the female version, was invented.

Shaka, an African king, once had the babies cut out of the bodies of hundreds of woman to see how they grew or some such reason...

When he realized that none of the women or babies would survive, he finally stopped...
