The Big issues are the socon issues, to be put in first. The little issues are things that can be accommodated around the bigger stuff. A candidate who tries to focus on the smaller issues first and leave out the bigger issues has no way of getting all of us into the tent. He splits the party. The candidate who gets the big stuff right and as much of the little stuff that will fit, he can fit more into the tent. We’re often amazed at how much rice can keep fitting in. Rudy Giuliani flunks some of the big issues, and on some of the little issues it looks to me like anyone else’s rice would do just as well.

Good analogy from one of the best posts here. I signed up just a few months after you did, and it wasn't long before the "news"magazines disappeared from our house. We never did have a TV. We still get the newspaper, but I spend 5 minutes max with it. This is where I get news and informed commmentary--along with a bunch of other stuff, but I'd rather it not be leftist "get over your issues" mess.

You know, I think JimRob could make some money by buying one of those leftist magazines and printing a Free Republic mag. Something to lay around the house for guests, that kind of thing. I can’t be the first person to come up with this idea... has it been thoroughly explored?
