Excellent metaphor, Delphinium. I’m repeating it below so that I don’t have to remember who wrote it & go hunting for it if I ever want it.

I read a similar short story when I was a kid called “Owls in the Family”.

I read a book as a kid about a pet owl. The owl did all kinds of funny stuff, such as flying into the house carrying a freshly-killed skunk.

But one scene sticks in my head. The boy was out crow hunting with his dad. The crows were staying out of range, and then suddenly the owl hopped up onto a fence post next to them. The crows lost their minds and came after the owl time after time even though they were getting blown out of the sky.

Really good story and does remind me of how these attack EV.

What was the name of that story, I’d like to get it for my grandchildren.
