Thank you,

I hardly think my response was "snarky". You think it is "Freepercide" - fine. I happen to think diferently. That is the way it must be then. If I have ofended your sensibilities - well, that is okay too, I guess. I have loved this place. I hate freedom of "choice" as it it defined and as it is known. I hate the acrimony, the hostility of this thread. I hate the celebratory tone that is taken every time that someone is gone - for whatever reason or rationalization. But I have come to know some of these people over years and thousands of comments. For you to judge them over their last how-ever-many posts is patently wrong. It is sad. It is wrong. It is punitive. And it is telling.

I will tell you again - Free Republic is powerful. It has a voice. And, it has been diminished. I am grieving because I, along with many of the departed, celebrated being here. The witch hunt must stop. It must. If you wish to flush out those who think "differently" you will find only an echo chamber left behind. Tell me that isn't wrong. Good grief, I'm appealing to everyone's sense of thought, everyone's sense of fairness. My gosh, there are scorecards and updates on the purge. Collectively these people have posted thousands and thousands of threads and comments. They hate the far-left, the liberalism that threatens our immediate well-being. And, I must say this, despite my hesitancy to speak for others:

They view our most immediate threat as the desire of our apocalyptic destruction from the jihadists - yours, mine, our loved ones, the born and unborn. The capitulation of the left to those forces --- threatens our undoing. None , none of the departed are capitulators to the left. Instead, there are those who "woo-hoo" every time someone is eliminated from our wonderful "forum". Please, I appeal to your sense of reason. Is this right? Surely there is room for some reasonable discourse.

So I say.... I hope to contribute to the dialog about the most important matters facing our world as we know it. I hope there is room for me. I hope there can be commonality as we move forward in this election cycle. We face the most perilous times ever. We need to measure everything against that. To do otherwise, in my singular view, is to do everything we know and love a disservice. The "woo-hooers" are misguided.

Make no mistake, the power and the impact of Free Republic is diminished with every single "woo-hoo". Please, call for a stop to this nonsense.

“Make no mistake, the power and the impact of Free Republic is diminished with every single “woo-hoo”.

You do a variation of this every night. You request that this site monolithic quit allowing these libs to commit suicide.

Judging from the length of your writing, I truely believe you are sincere. However, you’re wrong. Now what I want you to do, sincerely, is to go put the same effort into a letter that appeals to the sense of conservatives that they review and reconsider supporting a candidate that can do no good for the conservative movement, the GOP, nor the country... and address to this thread on Sunday and all of the antiFR sites out there, WA,Darwin etc and send it to

JimRob hasn’t really changed anything. He has moved the forum onto more fertile political ground. Tightened up the exisitng guidelines for posting. Beefed up the basic groundrules. He shook up Free Republic and told everyone what we all should have known, all along. FR is a conservative forum. We advance the conservative agenda, support conservative candidates and defend the Constitution. Nothing new about that. There is no place for liberalism on FR.

What has changed is now some liberal Republicans want to take the GOP in a more leftwing direction and promote one of their own to lead the Party of Reagan. Come on, Rudy is already splitting the GOP apart. The old Reagan coalition of social and fiscal conservatives is showing serious cracks. The Rockefeller Republicans are enjoying every minute of this. I happen to think that standing up for conservatism and opposing liberalism is a good thing.

The people who aren’t here anylonger, left on their own accord or by their own actions. They don’t like Jim highlighting FR as a conservative bastion. From what I’ve seen, just about everyone of the recently departed weren’t conservative anyway. And whining about it does absolutely no good. If you’re uncomfortable with FR, my advice is to move along.

To add a bit to an already excellent post:

This thread is turning FR into the living embodiment of the worst caricature its enemies have ever dreamed up. No outside attack could ever have done the damage to FR that this thread has already done.

I never thought I would see the day when the rallying cry for FreeRepublic became, "Up yours, asswipe".

What has been lost is lost forever.

If you wish to flush out those who think “differently” you will find only an echo chamber left behind.
***That is not the case. The ones who are leaving are doing it by several forms of freepercide.

For you to judge them over their last how-ever-many posts is patently wrong. It is sad. It is wrong. It is punitive. And it is telling.
***Then why don’t you check out this post and see what these folks are saying about us at WA, that they’ve hated us all along and were only trying to disrupt us. Can we judge them over those kinds of posts? Would you be in agreement that those types of freepers deserve what they got? As you stated, it is telling.

“I hardly think my response was “snarky”. “

I’m sure you don’t.

“You think it is “Freepercide” - fine.I happen to think diferently.”

Then you didn’t read the thread and the statements made directly to Jim Rob.

“If I have ofended your sensibilities - well, that is okay too, I guess.”

Hardly. It is you who seems to be sensitive to the fact that the Rudy supporters were banned because they just couldn’t control their enthusiasm and just HAD to ‘make their point’. Well it was made. And they lost.

“I hate the celebratory tone that is taken every time that someone is gone - for whatever reason or rationalization. But I have come to know some of these people over years and thousands of comments.” -

I’ve been here from the beginning and from what I’ve read of some of the posters who are ‘celebrating’, it seemed a well deserved critique of how they had been treated.

“For you to judge them over their last how-ever-many posts is patently wrong. It is sad. It is wrong. It is punitive. And it is telling.” -

I judge them, as I see them. When someone tells me “If you don’t support Rudy, and Hillary becomes president, then it will be YOUR FAULT! if you don’t vote for him”, then I have a tendency to take a little offense to that. Apparently, my ‘choices’ are fine as long as they agree with THEIRS. Sounds a little bit PC and ‘liberal’ to me.

“The witch hunt must stop. It must. If you wish to flush out those who think “differently” you will find only an echo chamber left behind. Tell me that isn’t wrong.”

It would be wrong, if it were true. But it’s not. You have it backwards. No one here, from all the posts I’ve read, started a ‘witch hunt’ against the Rudy supporters. They, by there own writings and attitudes, managed to get themselves banned from this site. You don’t think they committed Freepercide, but that only tells me that you either didn’t read all the posts and comments made by them, or you just don’t care because, after all, ‘Can’t we all just get along?’.

“They hate the far-left, the liberalism that threatens our immediate well-being. And, I must say this, despite my hesitancy to speak for others.”

Yes. They may hate the liberalism that threatens our security or, as you put it, our ‘immediate well-being’. But what of future childrens well-being? The 3000 daily abortions. They don’t count? How about gun control? That type of ‘liberalism’ isn’t a threat to our well-being?
Their argument were ‘we’ll just worrry about that later’. What if there is no ‘later’ because a democrat Congress passes even stricter gun control and a ‘liberal’ Rudy signs it into law? Impossible you say? If so then your dreaming.

“Please, call for a stop to this nonsense.”

I’ve read the rest of you post, and it’s nothing more than a repeat of what you’ve said before.

If you want to stop the ‘nonsense’, as you put it, then maybe you should talk to some of your ‘friends’ that just can’t seem to stop theirs.

Every story has two sides. And you seem only inclined to believe one of them.

I probably won’t be here for your reply, because I have to work. But it doesn’t matter because until you can come back and tell me that you’ve read through this thread and gotten the ‘whole’ picture of what went on, then replying to me would be a waste of my time and yours.

I find that you seem to have this ‘noble’ idea that no matter our differences, some hear should just ‘shut up and take it’.

The owner of this site isn’t going to ‘shut up and take it’, and neither am I and many more here.

***OK, if your appeal is based upon a sense of reason and fairness and the view that these people hate the left but are looking for reasonable discourse with us, how do you explain comments like this in the other forum?

It is MineralMan on page 45 on the link below saying

“My time over there was always as an agent provocateur, and merely a hobby for me. I’m watching from a distance, now, because it amuses me to do so. I have no stake in what happens there, politically or otherwise. It’s just amateur psychology for me.”

Your post doesn't deal with the evil of Marxism except by turning what is probably an innocent, blind eye to Cultural Marxism. You cannot ultimately defeat Marxism with Cultural Marxism. (And although it's still early in the 2008 race, if we have a Liberal GOP candidate for POTUS, we will definitely have a Liberal POTUS next time. Let's raise the bar....)

I pray you will soon be disabused of the notion that what is hated by some of those banned is the Left, it's the Religious Right they hate most of all; they're ON the Left! Pray for them--but beware.
