How do you know he can win? Polls mean very little right now. He was a mayor. That in no way proves he can win a nationwide election.

Aside from his liberal leanings, I find this fact bothersome too. I would have to go back to the depths of my memory bank, but has anyone ever tried this type of leadership jump before?

Secondly, he has had not one, but two chances to keep HRC out of the Senate, which would have given him a chance to prove himself on the national level.

I’ve been looking for a site with historical polling data from election years. My recollection is that at least half the time the early front runner does not get th nomination.
