If the GOP runs Rudy, then conservatives should RUN from the GOP. I’ve never been an advocate of independant candidates but this time might be the first.

Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate? I hope not. But thankfully that's a choice we won't need to make; Rudy's already hit his high water mark. It's all downhill from here.
To: Jim Robinson
Do you really expect me to do that?
No. No way.

I am a Republican only insofar as they are conservatives, and not when they are not.
If the GOP nominates a pro-abortion gungrabbing liberal, they forfeit my vote, and that result is not my fault, but theirs.
I’ve never voted for a gungrabbing pro-abortion liberal, and I’m not about to start now.

My favorite Rudy posts are the “we are the Borg” ones. Resistance is futile! You will be absorbed!

Will FR embrace Hillary instead, removing any chance of getting another conservative on the court?

Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party? I know you won't. Nor will this conservative.
Thanks, Jim, for all you do for the conservative cause!

If the Republican primary voters choose Giuliani, I will vote for him, as his presumptive opponent is Hillary.
I’m unaffiliated, so I will not be one of those voters. But I would vote for a trained chimpanzee if it meant keeping Hillary out of the White House.
And for what it’s worth, I do not believe Giuliani is a socialist. Say what you will about the guy’s position on social issues, but he has a record of success as NY Mayor that is pretty darned impressive.

Allow me to speak as a young guy here Jim...it was the Ronaldus Magnus after all who said that “freedom is never more than a generation away from becoming extinct”. Now, keep in mind that I’m fully aware of the fact that the MSM will attack and lambaste any GOP candidate that comes across the plate...
...but why Rudy? Maybe I’m holding out for Fred Thompson, but the electorate will rue the day that we’re expected to choose between Rudy and Hillary.
Decididng who looks better in a slip does not a presidential race make.

I wish our talk show host "leaders" had the same convictions you and many others here have, Jim.
The first priority for any conservative must be to stop the hijacking of the Republican party by Ghouliani and leftist elements within the GOP that want to turn it into a Democratic-lite party. If we lose that battle, the general election in 2008 will be meaningless and it will be eight years before a conservative could reach the White House.

Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it?
Unfortunately it has already. Conservatives can also fight back by distancing themselves from the socialists in the Republican party and form a Conservative party.
