“Troop support is what brought me to Free Republic.”
Same here. My family’s been military for three generations. D-Day, Africa, Tinian (509th anyone???), Korea, VietName, and Iraq.
But, according to the opinions of many, I’m not a “worthy conservative.”
Amazing.
When your military credentials match those of Keyes you will be worthy.
This is all I can find.
You need only reflect that one of the best ways to get yourself a reputation as a dangerous citizen these days is to go about repeating the very phrases which our founding fathers used in the struggle for independence.Uhhm... Charles Beard was a bloody socialist. To him the American Revolution was an aristocratic con-job on the people in order to protect elite economic interests. Later in his career he realized that class warfare didn't pay so well as to put the mouths of the Founders into defense of the New Deal.

Be careful with Bartlett's...
;-)
Did you bother to read squidnut's last few posted threads with the inane attacks against Fred?
But once it started, it certainly seemed like an exodus...from my POV...at least in a loose sense...
bttt
Except instead of following Moses, they followed the Pied Piper.
Didn’t matter who said it to me...it was the truth of the saying...he probably meant the bits about overthrowing powers that the governed feel are tyranical..but spouting off about what the founders thought about an armed citizenry, and the need for virtue, and the necessity of guarding liberty will certainly get you a bad reputation nowadays in some quarters! They don’t want to hear it!
“Her “shap retorts” were just personal attacks followed by threats to “report someone to the mods”.
She couldn’t debate her way out of a sack.”
That’s true, she was one evil bitch.
It makes me sick.
LOL
It was three generations for us; now it is four.
Me too. Keep your chin up. We military families are tough.
"Almighty God, Who has given us this good land for our heritage. We humbly beseech Thee that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of Thy favor and glad to do Thy will. Bless our land with honorable ministry, sound learning, and pure manners. Save us from violence, discord, and confusion, from pride and arrogance, and from every evil way. Defend our liberties, and fashion into one united people the multitude brought hither out of many kindreds and tongues. Endow with Thy spirit of wisdom those to whom in Thy Name we entrust the authority of government, that there may be justice and peace at home, and that through obedience to Thy law, we may show forth Thy praise among the nations of the earth. In time of prosperity fill our hearts with thankfulness, and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust to fail; all of which we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen."
Save this quote and use it next time someone declares that "Jefferson wasn't a Christian - he was a "deist""...
Hoo-wee, that rates a shrine at least, huh?
