I’ve seen a rant or two, here and there (lol)
Every step we take towards making the State our Caretaker of our lives, by that much we move toward making the State our Master.
Dwight D. Eisenhower

BUMP for Quote!!!
One last comment I didn’t get in. I for one believe science is a tool, and not something to believe in. Do I believe in a knife? Do I believe in data collections? Nope, I use the knife, I use the data collections.
And for the moment, rant over.
Another quote back at ya...
“Now more than ever before, the people are responsible for the character of their Congress. If that body be ignorant, reckless and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness and corruption. If it be intelligent, brave and pure, it is because the people demand these high qualities to represent them in the national legislature.... If the next centennial does not find us a great nation ... it will be because those who represent the enterprise, the culture, and the morality of the nation do not aid in controlling the political forces.”
James Garfield, the twentieth president of the United States, 1877
Cool graphic!
I find it interesting how many groups/people, etc. gather data and then can’t interpret the data. I suppose that’s where the analysis part comes in.
Yep.
I wish DOS would get some honest analysts and believe them...but they are as politically biased as other groups that don’t question their underlying assumptions enough.
I blame DOS for a lot over the last 70 or so years.
“The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government — lest it come to dominate our lives and interests.”

That’s a shame. Does anyone know why?
Keyword abuse, but he’s been reinstated by JimRob.

Glad he/she’s been reinstated. Thanks.
Good morning! :) I've never had the pleasure of eating a Maryland Blue crab, but I have yet to find a crab I didn't like. Years ago, we used to go crabbing in WA and OR for dungenous crab. Those are delicious too but we had to work harder to get the meat out of them. Are blue crabs similar to dungenous crabs? You're right, this is one of those times where size doesn't matter. LOL ;)
I wasn't accusing, I deliberately said the word, "if" and "IF" for a reason. Someone mentioned that possibility and the very thought of it was disturbing to me. But thank you for settling the issue that was brought up. I appreciate that and if I see it brought up again, I will let whoever posts it know that they are incorrect and share your answer with them. :)
AMEN!
“””Run, FRED, run, and bring J.C. Watts with ya!”””
A poster was attempting to promote a Fred Thompson Duncan Hunter ticket - unfortunately, her tagline read:
HUNTER THOMPSON
(had NO traction;)
“dungenous crab. Those are delicious too but we had to work harder to get the meat out of them. Are blue crabs similar to dungenous crabs?”
A few years back we went on vacation to Vancouver,Victoria, ?those islands out that way, and Seattle. Had my dungenous crab.
The dungenous crab meat was kind of bland and stringy. Blue crab is much more meaty with big lumps of meat and the taste is very sweet. You should take me up on the bet because the blue crab is worth it. However the fresh salmon I found “like a circus in my mouth”.
Anti-freeper sites still exist? That’s news to me. Simply put, I don’t have the time to spend doing that crap, even if I wanted to (and I don’t).
Heck, I have no idea who I’m supporting for President yet either. But I can tell you that the nominee will be Giuliani, unless Thompson gets into the race, and then I’d say he stands a halfway-decent shot (25-30%). The odds would still be against him winning the election (whereas they will favor Giuliani), but that’s the way the country is right now.
And so, because I really don’t like any of the other candidates (except Huckabee), my support will likely go to one of those two. Sure, neither is perfect, but this site right now is trying to overemphasize Giuliani’s negatives while overemphasizing Thompson’s positives.
This gets me back to my main point, which you ducked with a personal attack because you have no answer. Whether in 1999, 2001 or right now, the same sets of circumstances coincided and bannings thereafter occurred in the manner I listed in my earlier post. And when the likely occurrence of Giuliani as Republican nominee (and likely President) occurs a year or two from now, the same reverse situation that occurred in 2001 will happen then. “The more things change, the more they become the same.”
The real net negative is that once again this site has lost a certain cadre of posters who make it halfway interesting. Some will reappear, but others will be gone forever. And also the level of discussion will go downhill once again, as it did back in 1999.
Food for thought.
LOL!
