Broke my dad’s heart when I went to UT. He was an Aggie also.
Aside from his liberal leanings, I find this fact bothersome too. I would have to go back to the depths of my memory bank, but has anyone ever tried this type of leadership jump before?
Secondly, he has had not one, but two chances to keep HRC out of the Senate, which would have given him a chance to prove himself on the national level.
I would like to see what makes people think that Rudy could do anything differently better on terrorism than Hunter? Or Thompson?
As if to create some sort of a memorial to/for them?
Why?
Head slumped down...yes. I’ve taken many lashings :)
What makes you think they can hear ??...;0)
— You did add much to this thread, thats a given. A good sense of humor is a plus and you have it. Add creative and courageous - considering the climate
You are kind to say I am funny. Personally, I crack myself up, and I am pleasantly surprised when others ‘get it’, too. Thanks for feeding my scrawny little ego.
As for adding to this thread, I am not skilled at verbal ‘debate’—if, indeed, that describes what is going on here. I’m not easily offended and tend to give what others say the benefit of a doubt. I’m also not well-read politically, which is a great disadvantage when the cartridge-brass piling up in the trench begins to get knee high.
Besides, I’m not really needed. There are plenty of forum members here with the warrior spirit (which I can only parody) and know-how to bring ‘em in, set ‘em up, and get out of the way so Mr. R can take them out.
As for getting taken out myself, it could happen. I’ll still be able to lurk though, which is FR’s version of the afterlife.
Back up the thread there is a list of ‘removed rouges’, and I looked at their posting histories for patterns. Rooting for Rudy is not a mortal sin, but denigrating conservative values (as listed here and elsewhere ad nauseum) is. I’ve no target on my chest on that account.
Also fatal are hit-and-run attacks, where someone posts some unsupported assertion(s) and then doesn’t respond to the rebuttals before running off to post the same dreck on the next thread. Again, not guilty.
Finally, poking Mr. R in the eye and laughing about it is akin to making toast while bathing. I don’t know him personally, but I appreciate what he has made here and admire what he is trying to do with his creation. I haven’t read many of his posts, but his command of rhetoric, while much better than mine, seems to be less than remarkable. Nevertheless, I read his message loud and clear, and it resonates with my core beliefs. His communication skill isn’t as important as that of those he has gathered around him, here at FR. Their presence says more than either he or they alone can express.
As for this post giving the game away—doesn’t matter because the game can’t resist the lure and will come on to it despite what better judgement they may possess.
Shhh! Be vewy kwiet—we’re hunting wabbits!
That's exactly what he didn't want...a Senate track record.
Uh, oh...
Glad I'm at a safe distance out here in California!
:-)
Do you think the media might make a big noise about the fact that the police and firefighters in NYC had the same radio communications systems during 9/11/01 as they had during the first WTC bombing in 1993?
I do.
Great! I just met a guy who flies out from San Diego to DC with him on Mondays; he says Duncan Hunter is a great guy with a good sense of humor. I don’t think, however, he would find much funny about this thread.
“What makes you think they can hear ??...;0)”
Well, I can understand the whole “blinded by the light” concept, but come on, bugs have been exploding for days now. The neighbors can even here the getting zapped! :)
Just checking to see if that is what you really meant?
Meant about what?
Their memorial resides, eventually, in the viking kitty litterbox.
Thank You FR for the “ping” as we missed this article by Jim Robinson.
At this time we at the RQSR are not in support of anybody in particular in the campaign for the Presidency of the United States, however we are adamently opposed to selection of Rudy Guiliani as the Republican Candidate.
The article by Jim Robinson highlights the vast majority of the reasons we are in agreement.
I think they should read the ENTIRE thread, not pings from me.
I don't find much funny with this thread, but it was necessary, and overdue, IMO.
BOO HOO
If 911 had happened...say in Houston and Mayor White(?) had won local hearts, would that qualify him for president?
This sort of thing seems to happens every couple of years.
