If they’re a duo, they’re not alone.

I bet Soanya Ahmad is going to get really sick of Reid Stowe before the journey is over.

Yeah, real smart to set off on such a voyage with a girl young enough to be your daughter who has no experience. I wish they had to plans to set up a website to track their sail, as the sight of the girl freaking out in the Southern Ocean would be intersting.

Pretty sad that her parents are a little worried about her sail itself but apparently unconcerned about her hooking up with this guy instead of marrying him.

Fair winds and following seas.
Good luck Sailors.
Hope they didn’t take any bananas along.

One of those previous voyages was a 200-day trip with his wife in 1999. They're divorced now

Yeah, I'm sure the current marriage will survive 1,000 days at sea!

Stowe may want to reconsider the wisdom of sailing in dangerous conditions with only the help of a completely inexperienced hand.

"I haven't gotten seasick — so far," she said with a grin."

She should be OK, as long as she doesn't think about cold squid or greasy pork.

“a ton of coal and 100 boxes of firewood “ Holy cow!

I would have thought a small investment in Force 10 or Espar heater would be more weight efficient.

Ah to be 55 and 23 and in love.......

I give it 3 months.

Do they have a satellite link to a psychologist? Methinks they’ll be needing it.

She may be tested when the yacht rounds South America's Cape Horn on the way from the Atlantic to the Indian Ocean, an area infamous for waves as high as 100 feet, as well as icebergs.

I'd get seasick too if I rounded Cape Horn to go from the Atlantic to the Indian Ocean. Skipping the entire Pacific Ocean would be very scary.

Bet they don’t even make a rounding of Cape Horn. They’ll go the other way and eventually come back through the Panama Canal.

Bet she’s asking to get off as they’re rounding the Cape of Good Hope.

She’ll never make 1000 days at sea.

"I bet Soanya Ahmad is going to get really sick of Reid Stowe before the journey is over."

She'll be "washed overboard and lost at sea" by the second week.

Ms Ahmad, are you sure you want to be with this guy 1,000 days? I bet things get kinky on day two...

Marriage? 55 to 23 and only dating. This is a recipe for disaster...
