CALEXICO – Surveillance video of a deadly shooting last month of a would-be illegal migrant by a Border Patrol agent is prompting calls by the Mexican government for an investigation, although it shows the agent apparently firing in self-defense.
A Border Patrol video of that incident, derived from those surveillance images and originally meant as an internal report to Border Patrol headquarters in Washington, has since been leaked onto the Internet.
Ramiro Gamez Acosta, 20, was shot once in the chest by an agent armed with an M-4 carbine last March 26. He died within minutes.
LOL!
Hopefully, because this incident is public, our justice dept will not bend to Mexico’s wishes as they did the other agents who were charged and convicted before the public knew.

I would take a close look at the direction of his shoulder since pointing the shoulder is the normal way of throwing.
A rock to the head can cause death, the agent chose to protect himself in the safest way for himself, instead of playing dodgeball with rocks being thrown at his head. Criminals threatening to harm citizens DO NOT get the benefit of the doubt, when will they learn.

I just viewed the video of the BP shooting at the link posted by Ladycalif. It was edited in an obvious attempt to portray it as a bad shooting.The text portion put in by the Tribune stated the rock thrower was an illegal immigrant. He wasn't an immigrant. He was a smuggler. The agent attempted to apprehend the criminal when he tried to leave the canal. He fought with the agent and then ran towards the marked unit. Somewhere in between the canal and the truck he picked up a rock. This was edited out.
At one point the camera pans away from the agent towards the border fence where you can see six smugglers hurling rocks at the agent. This was edited out.
What the cameras don't show you is that the agents were trapped south of the All American Canal with multiple rock throwers south of the fence. For a better understanding of the terrain go to Google Earth coords:32deg 39.45 min 07 sec/115deg 32 min 47sec.
This looks like a good shoot.
From that distance, a rock can be a deadly weapon. Hope there was an agent in the car.
Uhm, I thought we were against the government providing meaningful employment. That's up to the private sector.
It doesn’t have to be deadly - it just has to disable the BP agent long enough for the guy with the rock to grab the gun.
Well, all this UN-natural manure emminating from our Crapitols these days, stinks to high heaven!!!

They've become so protected and bold, they'll walk right up to an armed BP officer and attempting to turn off his lights with a large rock to the head.
A big rock at point blank range could have killed the BP agent. Case dismissed!
