Alec Baldwin issued an apology on Friday for unleashing a volcanic tirade at his 11-year-old daughter and blamed "certain people" for leaking the rant to US media.
The Oscar-nominated star of "The Departed" branded daughter Ireland a "rude, thoughtless, little pig" in a fiery voicemail message that emerged on celebrity websites on Thursday.
It is the latest twist to the bitter legal wrangling between Baldwin and ex-wife Kim Basinger over custody and visitation rights relating to Ireland. The couple split in 2001.
Baldwin's tirade was apparently triggered by Ireland's failure to switch her mobile phone on for a scheduled call with her father.
"Once again I've made an ass out of myself trying to get to a phone at a specific time," Baldwin says in the message. "I'm tired of playing this game with you. You have insulted me for the last time.

There’s a National Geographic special about Bully
Rogue Elephants in India (I think).
Turns out these boys were orphaned young, when their
Mother’s were killed. Mother elephants happen to teach
herd “manners”. The remedy was to introduce “disciplined”
adult male into the rogue herd to do some regulating.
I got it, but the meaning was completely lost on NG.
No problem Mediation actually fixed a ton of problems between my ex and I. I saw that she too had a point of view and she saw mine. If you have a good mediator they do not take sides, just listen and get you to sort it out.
Strangely it works. As I’ve said in earlier post, it fixed a ton of stuff and everyone walked away...with money....and thinking they’d won something.
I personaly think, looking back., that the only thing we won was self-respect. I talked to my ex about 3 months ago and we where actually laughing and joking. It wasn’t until afterwards I thought of how hard that would have been ten years ago.
SMACK!!
Thanks for the laugh. I’m a frustrated mom of four messy “pigs”. They laugh when I call them that, though.
I’m not sure. I’ll check and I apologize if I misdirected it. Sometimes I find things a bit confusing on long threads.
Baldwin’s rant had no effect. Mothers get custody of surviving kids after only murdering some.
I’ve got to check that NG show out.
You are absolutely right - I did miss-post. What should I do please?
LOL!!
I just spent ten minutes trying to find the link.
It could have been Animal Planet, but I’m pretty
sure it was NG.
I’ll keep searching for you.
That’s not just name calling. It’s abuse. Yes, God continue to help this nation. That’s been the only grace that has saved us. Alec Baldwin is a coward to say the things he said to his daughter. Not to mention he is mentally disturbed.
“Although Alec acknowledges that he should have used different language in parenting his child, everyone who knows him privately knows what he has been put through for the past six years,” it added.
Again, its all about Alec. Forget what his child has been put through for the past six years, mainly....having to deal with Alec. I don’t know if using farm animal names are the best approach in parenting. Might have missed that: “YOU COCK-A-MAINY...ROOSTER!!!”
I hate no one, and maybe you didn’t read my post, but only looked. I would not have made fun of them, but would have opened myself to the ridicule of their friends, which would have been behind my back, and whose opinions meant less than nothing to me. my ex-wife once told me my 14 year old daughter had “a right to a life of her own”. I told her she had the right to whatever life I let her have.
O’h thanks, I watch the Animal Planet channel. I’m sure to stumble onto some day.
Got it!

That's certainly an "interesting" approach to parenting. How did that work out for you?
Keep your shirt on. Playfully doing things to intentionally embarrass your children in front of their friends is a time honored tradition of good fathers everywhere. I especially like it when my kid says "you have to understand: my dad is kind of wierd".
I can’t judge your situation, other than what you post...and I misread that one. I am sorry.
I agree. In the course of my graduate work on U.S. law vs. marriage, I read the works of Alice Miller on the topic of childhood abuse. I highly recommend them.
I hope that was submitted to the judge.
Brilliant post!
