John Edwards said hes embarrassed about his now famous $400 haircut.
Campaign finance records show that Edwards campaign paid a Beverly Hills stylist $400 for his haircuts. Those pricey snips have undercut Edwards image as a populist crusading for the little guy.
Its a ridiculous amount of money for a haircut, Edwards told reporters after a campaign stop on Adels town square. Im actually embarrassed by it.
This guy had to come to where I was to get a haircut. I knew itd be expensive. I didnt know it would be that expensive. Hopefully Ill have enough sense not to do that again.
Edwards rejected the notion that his haircuts dont jibe with his campaign message...

I can believe this...but it says quite a bit about his character if it took a massive amount of negative publicity to arrive at the point where he is embarrassed. And it doesn't change that he's an anti-Christian bigot...so I don't know how much traction he's going to get from admitting his embarrassment.

A $400 haircut should come with a happy ending. Looks like this one didn’t.

If he wanted to make points with the average voter why didnt the goof just walk into Joes Clip Joint, pull up a chair and wait his turn in the barber chair. Only one BIG problem with that...Joe don't color.

I guess the palace he lives in can be overlooked. It was the haircut that outed him as being full of crap.Being a man of the people, Edwards will henceforth move about his palace while sporting a $15 haircut.

I wonder if the guy who cut his hair was also a....uh...as Ann Coulter would say; also a f****t.

Finally, something that embarrasses a Democrat, and it's a haircut?

if Edwards got a $400 haircut, or $1000, or whatever, and paid for it himself, that’s fine. However, he had his $400 haircut paid for out of campaign contributions. I should think that would be more embarassing than the amount paid. Is that clearer ?

If I bite my tongue any harder, I won’t be able to talk. $400 for a haircut — must have included airfare — or this guy must require a lot of work. To think you guys refer to women as “high maintenance”. I’ve been a Republican all my life, and I give my guys (and their friends) haircuts in the kitchen — so much for Democrats “two Americas”. Makes me want to hit him with the clippers (while they’re running).
To: dfwgator
His argument doesn’t wash. He got TWO of those haircuts in two weeks time, as I understand it.

By the way, Cub-ette, I do sweep, mop and wipe the floors and counters down with Clorox when I’m done. I have no problems with it and we all seem perfectly healthy. I’ll stack my kitchen up against anybody’s. We also save money and the guys would rather have me cut their hair than pay $30, plus tip for a screwed up job. Neat, clean — one likes a “Princeton” and the other goes corporate-neat — “no business in the front, party in the back” haircuts for my guys. ;-)

Cheapskate takes his wife to Wendy’s on his anniversary but pays $400.00 for a haircut. Wonder if the tip was included.

Geez, for $400 I’d cut his ears off and make a necklace for his dog.

Can you believe that? The man is a millionaire, if he wants a $400.00 dollar hair cut who cares, but he billed his campaign for it, how tacky is that?? I kinda feel like if I’m donating to someone’s campaign that does not mean I’m financing their personal hygene, sheeesh. Tacky.

Yep, what he is really embarrassed with is billing his campaign for $800 for haircuts, and getting caught.
