I knew it’d be expensive. I didn’t know it would be that expensive. Hopefully I’ll have enough sense not to do that again.”

I can believe this...but it says quite a bit about his character if it took a massive amount of negative publicity to arrive at the point where he is embarrassed. And it doesn't change that he's an anti-Christian bigot...so I don't know how much traction he's going to get from admitting his embarrassment.
