khou is reporting the shooter as bill phillips. i dont know him but i heard he was known as kind of a hothead. the man he killed is reported to be david beverly. ive known dave for several years. he was a gold badge in charge of the eee parts group, a very competent guy.

I’m so sorry you’ve lost a good co-worker in such a horrible way. Sometimes I worry that NASA has a lot of mentally shaky engineering geeks among its contractors. When I first learned about Russell Yates’ bizarre personal life, it was alarming to think that somebody like that was allowed to work in a NASA facility. He simply can’t have come across as normal and stable, and yet he’d worked there for a number of years.
If you hear anything about a possible ID on the female hostage, I’d like to know. I have a college friend who works there (does something related to space shuttle electrical systems, last I heard).
Am very sorry you knew the shooting victim and that this occurred at your facility. If you learn the “reason” for the shooting, could you please let us know. Just listened to Fox replay and they did not know the ‘reason’....what triggered the violence.
