http://www.eisenhower.navy.mil/news.html has nothing
CETCOM has nothing, Navy Times offers no detail, the navy.mil news site say nada, so I guess the JAG is being pretty closed mouth.
I suspect that the good CO may be in dock for activity as the XO - perhaps some issue on funds spent prior to deployment? Fraternization, DUI and the like are usually identified on the initial press release.

With a coed military, it’s a pretty easy call nowadays.
Over 25 years ago I worked at Army Selection boards. My observations then were that 90% of the Officer Corps that stepped on their johnson did so because of either booze, p-tang or both.

That has to be some kind of record. Brutal.

Wing Commander wouldnt ever tell me what she said that got her canned, but Id never seen him so steamed. I remember at least one Wing Commander who was a complete and obvious horse's ass.

Gotta think that the Ike is prolly positioned for a possible strike Iran and Rankin’s squadron would be slated to lead the first flights to suppress the Iranian radars, and the commander didn’t think he could cut the mustard for some reason, or perhaps another candidate was better qualified for the mission. I gotta think that a strike might be scheduled pretty soon. That was the rumor on a milblog that I saw.

maybe he said something negative about the prospects of attacking Iran. Cowardice would be a pretty good reason for firing him.

lol. Sort of a 2 for 1 cake. Assuming and giving up command, all in one ‘swell foop’.
To: org.whodat
You’re on your own with that one. Better duck.
To: jagusafr
One? Well, my rule of thumb for SAC O-6s was 'out of any three, one's a drunk, one's an incompetent and the third one spends most of his time cleaning up after the first two.' But yeah, there was one who was head and shoulders further inserted than the rest.

Not necessarily. A CO of VP-1 was relieved in the 80s after two aircraft accidents on his watch. The article said the reason wasn't safety related.
