Second-tier GOP hopefuls lack cash

http://washingtontimes.com/national/20070417-104247-8109r.htm

Republicans’ presidential field may be wide, but this weekend’s fundraising numbers show it is not deep.

Other than Mitt Romney, Rudolph W. Giuliani and John McCain, no Republican raised $2 million or had $1 million cash on hand as of March 31, making it nearly impossible for them to challenge the top three candidates.

“At this point, there is no second tier in the Republican Party,” said one longtime campaign observer who spoke on the condition he not be named in order to give a straightforward assessment. “It’s really more of a first tier and a third tier.”

I am pro-life, and he is pro-choice--he has made it abundantly clear that he would appoint John Roberts/Samuel Alito-type judges to the federal bench.

Hahahahahaha...

Three words. Darth. Vader. Ginsburg.

Giuliani: "[W]hat's important to me is to have a very intelligent, very honest, very good lawyer on the court. And [John Roberts] fits that category, in the same way Justice Ginsburg fit that category."

Rudy is the only one who has a chance against HIllary.

Jim, didn't you post a thread about that silliness a couple months ago?

Lieberman is a phony. But a phony is better than a socialist, which is what his opponent Ned Lamont was.

And when the Hillary and Democrats win, who truly ARE "anything goes, cross-dressing, baby killing, gay bar cruising, unarmed atheist winners of elections " how does THAT help conservatism? What say will conservatives will have in anything then? The GOP is already shrinking, while the Dems are gaining.

And all FReepers hear coming from you, as usual, is "blah blah blah...more liberalism, less conservatism...blah blah blah." If you want to argue that the Republican Party should become LESS conservative, you shouldn't do it around here. We don't want nor welcome your promotion of liberalism and we resent how it interferes with the conservative mission of the website that you continue to abuse.

I think all the candidates are deserving of at least some respect. After all, one of them is going to be our president.

So, you believe that liberals like Hillary and Obama are deserving of the respect of the members of this conservative forum too? If we're not going to give those liberals any respect, then why would we give your favorite liberal any respect? Giuliani is a damned liberal and he gets what he deserves around here.

“Rudy is the only one who has a chance against HIllary.

The only thing Fred Thompson is doing, is to help McCain, as some of us said from the very beginning — and if McCain is the nominee, welcome Pres Hillary.”

You are so far off the mark it’s pathetic. Rudie don’t have a dogs chance ,,,, For someone who claims to be anti hillary you sure are working hard to put her in office.

In that case, why do you care?

Because we're sick of your crap polluting this conservative forum every day. We're sick of you trying to undermine the conservative mission of this website. We're sick of you and people like you acting as subversives to redefine conservatism into meaninglessness. We're sick of the disruption and distraction you continue to be as we conservatives work and desire to elect an actual conservative, not the damned liberal you've sold out to.

Of course you offer no facts, no evidence supporting your assertions.

I offered FACTS.

Do you consider the conservative mission of this website to elect Hillary? You sure act like it.

No, actually there is virtually no difference between LIEberman and Lamont. Yes, LIEberman had been a staunch supported of the WOT and Ned isn't; however, some of that proWOT from LIEberman had already lessened quite a lot, when he ran last year.

LIEberman is worse than a "phony"; he is a semihawk, but also a socialist.

True. Lieberman is the best you’ll get from CT, though. As for Hillary, she can do a lot more damage as president than she can now, as only one senator out of 100.

Howard Dean was clearly a nut cae who only appealed to the Dummycrats’ antiwar base. Rudy has crossover appeal that could matter in a big state like California with its 55 electoral votes.

“Because we’re sick of your crap polluting this conservative forum every day. We’re sick of you trying to undermine the conservative mission of this website”

So posting poll numbers that prove we are losing the electorate is undermining this website? Pull your head out of your ass and start looking at these numbers. Maybe you can come up with some answers instead of insults. Cuz your brand ain't flying off the shelves.

Oh, I'm not so sure that that is true. The problem was that LIEberman had such a lock on the election, prior to the MoveOn funded and pushed into place Lamont, that the already feeble Conn. GOP just threw in a sacrificial lamb.

Yes, Hillary MUST be "contained"; kept to her Senate seat and NEVER allowed to be president. Though Obama and Edwards and Richardson could all do terrible damage as well. We must NOT allow any Dem to win the next election! And those who post here, saying that it won't be "that" bad, if the GOP candidate loses, are wrong.
