Steve Forbes: Right Man for Our Times (Rudy Giuliani)
Forbes ^ | April 23, 2007 | Steve Forbes

Posted on 04/17/2007 6:25:48 PM PDT by FairOpinion

Rudy Giuliani would make a superb president. he combines Reaganesque vision with extraordinary attention to detail. He is strong on national security and also has the principles and policies to strengthen the economy. He is a tax cutter and a foe of the federal income tax's complexity.

He is a fervent free trader, much needed, as global protectionist pressures are rising. He has also demonstrated an antipathy toward unnecessary regulation. If Sarbanes-Oxley hasn't been amended by the time Giuliani takes office, he will push hard to remove its counterproductive elements.

While I disagree with him in certain areas--I am pro-life, and he is pro-choice--he has made it abundantly clear that he would appoint John Roberts/Samuel Alito-type judges to the federal bench.

Giuliani cut or eliminated 23 taxes. The top rate for the city income tax, for instance, was knocked down by 21%. The overall tax burden for a New York City resident went down a remarkable 17%.

During Giuliani's tenure the Big Apple's economy blossomed: 423,000 new jobs were created. More people were moving into the city than leaving it. That he achieved so much going against a generations-old spend-tax-welfare political ethos is astonishing.

we are in a tough spot in 2008.

and where was “everybody” these last few years, the RNC, the grass roots, the conservatives - in attempting to groom a candidate for 2008. Who did we think we were going to run? Why are we now left with having to pin our hopes on dragging Fred Thompson off the set of Law and Order (but only after sweeps weeks complete mind you) to rescue us? We haven’t worked to develop any “bench strength” these past years. Our party has to get out there early, because we don’t have the media shilling for us, creating a candidacy out of thin air like they did for Obama. But no one on our side seems to “want it” badly enough to have done the hard work.

Alot of people here recognize that, they see the consequences of losing, and are willing to try the approach that says fighting for your issues as a part of a winning team is better then losing and struggling to hold 40 votes in the senate on every single vote, as a method of participating in the political process.

"Cowards all. Better watch it. Hillary’ll get you. Boo!"

That's very true!

Let me fill you all in. Back during the '80s, feminism finally got to part of my family. I wanted to know why, so I did a women's studies class. Yes...me...no kidding.

There were 45 guest speakers for that class, and I learned a lot about their political plans. BTW, Donna Shalala was the one key player who spent most of her life organizing to put someone like Hillary in presidential office.

Anyway, I learned that the general feminist plan was to take control of our education systems. Their next step was to destroy "working class" families. After that (and next), the plan is to go after "the good ol' boys," as they call men who get their income from investments and business management.

Fellow Republicans, you won't have your cake and eat it, too. If you want your own remaining vestige of fiscal conservatism to live (if you want to keep your possessions), you'll have to get with moral conservatism.

If not, well, you're next. Hillary's gangs will take everything away from you.

Isn’t this another stinking liberal rerun article? How much are you getting paid to put this propaganda on FR day after day? What a waste of time, not one mind will be changed.

You’re right. I lost my composure. I should not have included that line about JR.

But the second line stands: “New York City is a better place in the wake of the Giuliani administration. By any measure.”

"Forbes is a shrewed business man. In his position he can’t afford to misjudge people and he doesn’t."

I should have written that he's a pollyanna in regarding other celebrities. He has misjudged lesser-known, morally conservative voters. Leaders cannot continue a year-round carnival culture by feeding certain social programs against potential competition (common men with ingenuity--yes, commonly known as "males" these days, like members of the animal kingdom) and keep their favored part of fiscal conservatism. Such trend always wanders the path toward hard socialism (and the likes of Hillary for new leaders).

The Californian Ideology (liberaltarianism) leads to a communist/fascist hell, and no amount of vanity will keep it away.

Forbes only cares about money. He did a brilliant job with his dad’s fortune. Increased its value 600% in 20 years.
But there is more to life than money, and east coast Forbes
forgot about morals and ethics. Sad.

“In that case, why do you care?”

Because this is a forum for conservatives. We will not allow liberals like you overrun this place with your deceptive liberal propaganda spewing out here day after day. That’s why I care. Why waste your time here when you could be far more effective spewing out this idiotic nonsense over at DU? All you are here is an outcast.

I’d love to keep him here in NYC, but he won’t be corralled. He has a’hankering to sit in the Halls of Power in Washington, DC.

...and Republicans keep giving him money to keep his campaign going...and Republicans keep telling pollsters they support his candidacy. So, I guess he'll just keep moseying along.

How do you think this will play in the south?.....

Rudy Giuliani: The Knight and ‘The Queen’

According to The London Times, New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani gives kisses before he leaves every morning, but to neither his estranged wife, nor his girlfriend. Instead, says The Times, “Sir Rudy” gives a peck on the cheek to the two homosexual men he’s living with.

“We always get a little kiss, it’s cute,” says wealthy car dealer Howard Koeppel, with whom Giuliani has been sharing an apartment since June. When Giuliani was recently knighted, Koeppel tells The Times that he told “Sir Rudy” to call him “Queen Howard.” Koeppel (63) and his homosexual lover Mark Hsiao (41) have been comforting Giuliani, and trying to make him laugh, in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks.....(more at link)

Oh, and you are the arbiter who decides who posts here and who doesn’t? Who is a “liberal” and who isn’t?

This isn’t your private little tent, get over it. You want to keep losing elections? Keep it up, dividing and excluding until you are meaningless statitistically.

“I can’t stand liberal democrats.”

Oh really? But you can stand liberal republicans. Very intelligent.

“I vote straight line conservative.”

No you don’t. You vote straight line republican. BIG difference. Too bad you don’t understand that.

“I’m supporting Mr. Giuliani.”

President Hillary Rodman thanks you for making it possible for her to win the election.

Any questions?

Yes, I have a question. How is it you can be so easily deceived? Even Rudy’s momma knows that Rudy ain’t no conservative. Here’s what she said not long ago...

“He only became a Republican after he began to get all these jobs from them. He’s definitely not a conservative Republican.” — Rudy’s mother Helen

Maybe you should listen to Rudy’s momma and learn something about the liberal you’re supporting.
