BOSTON Senator John Kerry gets behind radio and T-V personality Don Imus, saying he should NOT have been fired for making racially insensitive remarks.
Kerry also says he'd be willing to go on Imus' show again as long as it wasn't (quote) "the same-old, same-old."
In an interview with New York television station New-York-1, the Democrat says the punishment has to fit the crime, and that Imus should have instead faced a long suspension.
Imus was fired last week for calling the Rutgers University women's basketball team "nappy-headed hos" on his radio and T-V program.
Kerry pointed to the decision by members of the team to accept an apology from the shock jock.
The 2004 Democratic nominee for president was a frequent guest on Imus' show.
This is a mutilation of the Bill of rights. Imus, as racist as the comment might have been has the right to say whatever, within reason, he wants to say. Since when is it okay for blacks to call whites “crackers”, yet we get all worked up over “nappy-headed hos”. What happened to the blacks during the slave labor era in America was horrible, yes, but it blacks need to stop using it as an excuse to say whatever they want against whites.

Kerry probably is thinking that Imus might make a comeback and with the media focus finally off the guy, he is safe in saying this.

No, you have the wrong John Kerry. The one I am aware of didn’t “serve”. He just “dropped in” to Viet Nam thinking it would be like John Wayne in the movies but quickly found that real bad, serious and deadly dangerous stuff was going on. So, he faked and falsified a heroic record in a magnificent 7 weeks and departed. He is total garbage. Phonies are always high profile scorekeepers and not low profile true grit players.
