Unless the killer was using extended magazines, and I don't think he was, the ban dear Keith is referring to is misapplied. The ban was, I believe, on rifle and carbine mags in excess of ten rounds. The 15 round mags of an Auto Ordnance M 1 Carbine, or the 20 round mag of a Springfield Arms M1A were verboten. The regular 16 or 17 shot mags of a Glock or other 9mm were never affected.
Keith is just still fumingover what Mike Francesca said about his show yesterday while replacing Imus. First that he had lower numbers than the FAN's Richard Neer, dubbed Sir Sominex. and 2 that Francesca could leave the Astoria studios in yesterday's Nor Easter and touch more people on Steinway Street than listen to or watch Olbermann.
To: ianschwartz
Most of the clips ( mags) that mattered were the 30 round AK or Bushmasters. You can still legally (even in the People’s Republic of New Jersey) by 15 round clips .

Maybe we should get a list of his sponsors and threaten a boycott if he isn’t taken off the air.

Oh, someone told me this Olbermann fellow thinks he is a comedian. Is that correct? Being a political pundit is a second career. He was a sportscaster prior to getting the MSNBC gig. Unfortunately, NBC is going to have in on NFL Sunday this season.

LIBERAL SOLUTIONS:
The welfare system is a failure - expand it!
Teaching children about sex at age five fails to stop teen pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases - teach them at age three!
Gun control fails to stop homicidal maniacs - pass more gun control!
etc.

Olbermann blames Bush for Virginia Tech massacre Of course he does. He's an idiot.
If Dubya wasn't POTUS Olbie would be blaming it on anthropogenic global warming.
To: daddypatriot
The question is, why does a television network provide him with a forum? Because he HATES BUSH - GET BUSH - STOP BUSH - IMPEACH BUSH BUSH BUSH BUSH BUSH BUSH!!!!

Well he is on PMSNBC so what do you expect? He failed to do any research on the Glock 19, the standard magazine holds 15 rounds. You could easily buy two more magazines, for a total of 45 rounds. The 22 cal. semi-auto could easily hold just as many rounds, and multiple standard magazines. So until it is verified that a greater capacity magazine was used. Kids died (RIP) but President Bush had nothing do do with it.

Take heart...
Nobody watches Olberman...he has gotten more publicity here than a week on MSNBC....and we here don't give a rat's ass what he says...
Olberman has no power.

Just as I mentioned last night — the attacks will come from all quarters. We need to be prepared for a bare-knuckled fight and give as good as we get. This is one of the things, IMHO, that has driven the libs crazy since W defeated Algore — we’ve undone Clinton’s gun-grabber policies. They won’t be able to resist attacking guns: the madness has overtaken them.

Something needs to be done about this sissy boy being involved with Sunday night football this year. He'll take care of it himself.
He'll get comfortable and then let his big fat mouth get him in trouble. Then he'll find out real fast that his brand of shiite don't fly in the booth during football games.
It might in the newsroom but fans won't put up with it if it gets as bad as I believe it will.
Hell, most folks couldn't put up with Dennis Miller and he is MILD compared to Olberweeny.

The regular 16 or 17 shot mags of a Glock or other 9mm were never affected [by the ban] Sure they were. No semi-auto handguns could be sold with hi-cap mags unless those mags were manufactured prior to the ban (1994). Those 9mms you speak of were all sold with 10-round mags between '94 and '04. Thankfully that ban is now history.

I totally agree, when I read the headline that was what I thought as well. My family and I are huge football fans, but I won’t be watching as long as he is involved. Maybe we should all send NBC a message.

That’s fine with me. I don’t watch NFL football. I watch the college games.
