BLACKSBURG, Va. -- The suspected gunman in the Virginia Tech shooting rampage, Cho Seung-Hui, was a troubled 23-year-old senior from South Korea who investigators believe left an invective-filled note in his dorm room, sources say.
The note included a rambling list of grievances and ended with the words "Ismail Ax" in red ink on the inside of one of his arms.

some kind of load dept for u.s.a universities? and was anyone by the name of Carmen Ishmal a victim?
To be fair, the NRA, JPFO and Ron Paul got statements out in a hurry, too.
I posted the NRA's statement, which said that they weren't going to make a statement until more facts were known. Two Virginia pro arms rights groups did come out with somewhat stronger statements. Didn't see Ron Paul's statement and JPFO's was about like the two Virginia organizations, which is to say very mild, for the JPFO that is.
Where is the f**king note?
The suitemates didn’t even know what Cho’s major was.
If we are going to question accounts we don’t agree with, we should use those same discernment skills with rumors we do agree with.
The gamer name would have been used online. That wouldn’t come out until his computer was searched.
It is a viable possibility, just as viable as Ismail Ax being a jihadi name.
Why exclude either option at this early date?
You mean the one of the primary pieces of evidence in a multiple murder case which made headlines around the globe?
Be patient. I'm sure the police will release the note to the howling mob as soon as they are finished with it.
Yea, exactly that note. The one that they would lay down on the copy machine and print copies for every news agency that asked if it had politically correct rantings. That would be the note.
Do you really believe that? There are huge forensic issues here.
Not to the conspiracy nuts.
I honestly don’t get it. If you want the truth, why not take everything with a grain of salt? Blindly accepting one answer over another is no different than the MSM.
Sorry, a rhetorical rant. What a diverse place we are here!
*snicker*
The Muslims believe that Abraham (Ibrihim) was going to sacrifice Ishmael (Ismail) instead of Isaac and use an ax instead of a knife. Viola!-The Muslim expression Ismail(s) ax.
The suitemates didnt even know what Chos major was. If we are going to question accounts we dont agree with, we should use those same discernment skills with rumors we do agree with. You honestly don't see the difference between suitemates being able to observe behavior (what he does while in the room) and suitemates being given faulty information (his major)?
I guess you're right. We'll just go with your son's violent video game interpretation here. Thanks again for that link to the article referencing his violent video game addiction.
Re your later comment, not sure exactly who you're referring to as a "conspiracy nut." I see no conspiracy (not part of some Al Qaeda plot), but I do think it's legitimate to ask whether someone who takes time to emblazon his arm with an Islamic reference before committing a terror attack is motivated by Jihadi intent.
That actually makes some sense. If you can't fire a screw-up all you got left is yelling. And if you can't do either, there is a Ford in your future :-)
But you are right, a quiet firing is better than permanent screaming.

So true.
Troubled young loners are vulnerable to joining cults / religious movements. No one is saying the guy wasn't disturbed -- some of us just want to know who he associated with and what websites he frequented. This was a guy on a mission.
I'd imagine he also stored items and used computers someplace other than his room.
Yes, I do. What are the huge forensic issues?
Per AP report *here*, the *note* runs 8 pages long.
A law enforcement official who read Cho's note described it Tuesday as a typed, eight-page rant against rich kids and religion. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.
