"On this day of national tragedy, when we lost some of our finest to a senseless act, we stand together as a country to mourn those who lost their lives.
"My thoughts and prayers continue to be with the survivors and the many friends, colleagues and family members of those who perished. May God bless them all."
-Rudy Giuliani
Adults all. Why not?
Trying to show people the utter idiocy of expecting Draconian gun laws to prevent these tragic events is not a "petty agenda" by any stretch of the imagination. Keeping politicians out of elected office who advocate disarming the law abiding citizenry while armed lawbreakers are given a risk-free environment to operate in is a life and death matter for every American.
Rudy Giuliani’s candidacy has NOTHING to do with this thread. I’m sorry you can’t figure this out.
Could you please let me know via FReepmail where I can find a civil website? Thank you! :) chena
A short and respectful statement, most appropriate at this sad time.
Unbelievable! They promote their gun-grabbing abortionist candidate here on a conservative site that is dedicated to the opposite point of view, and we are the bad guys for pointing it out. They try to show Rudy Giuliani’s “concern” when we all know that if he ever gains the Presidency we will see more of these incidents with no weapons to defend ourselves. Un-freaking-believable!
Words fail me. No, let me rephrase that. I refuse to put my feelings into words because I don't want you to sucker me into a flame war and get me banned.
Have you no compassion sir?
Yep, they do.
Let me give you Rudy's words:
what is that buzzing I hear?
Bill
Class of '86
That situation is totally different from this massacre shooting. Let's not mix apples and oranges.
I foresee a bipartisan commission being instituted by leaders of both parties to study this issue.
So a foreign national was NOT involved today?
What's your point? Today was a Columbine-style massacre that will surely result in a bipartisan national commission (esp. since the Democrats control both houses of Congress) to investigate national gun control laws. Aren't you listening to the news shows?
Hey, I’m no fan of Rudy but what else could the guy say. His remarks were appropriate. Now, Bill and Hill; that’s another story. They’re as phony as a $3 bill.
So what gun control laws are you in favor of?
Well, if they had any guts they would tell the politically incorrect truth. Namely, that banning guns from a school, university, or any public venue in effect guarantees that a homicidal maniac can have plenty of risk-free time to select his victims and methodically kill them one by one.
Instead all we hear is boiler plate expressions of sympathy for the victims' families, and a little later no doubt a call for more gun control laws. Laws which are partially responsible for the scope of the tragedy to begin with.
Then you have the joy and excitement the Young have at becoming ‘of legal drinking age’...partaking of their newfound freedom until their blood alcohol level is akin to that of Bloody Mary. Oh, and throw on top of that enough testosterone to make a NFL locker room tip toe (and with lots of females around for young bucks to compete over)...and that should give anyone pause before allowing a CCW to any but the most responsible and mature among that crowd.
Maybe a separate campus permit for carry--in addition to whatever state or local requirements there are for carry...but, I'd stop well short of unrestricted carry for students.
Hell, my state park won't let me carry...you think my state university will?
I gotta tell ya, I see the 2nd Amendment the same way as the first - “...NO LAW...” means, well, NO LAW. An adult can carry anywhere, anytime. And be held responsible for his actions.
