There's an interesting discussion here that started about McMansions but turned into an interesting discussion of civilization in general. My thought is that civilization will collapse under its own weight (at least in certain areas), because too many people let it.

Japanese news sources are theorizing more and more in the open that the assailant was "Asian" (not "Asian" in the sense the Brits say it, such as a Paki or Indian, but "Asian" in the sense of China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Taiwan, Singapore), that kind of "Asian".
