The first shooting occurred 2 hours before the second shooting where the big massacre took place. They should have closed the campus after the first shooting, period.
You cannot secure the campus. Too large.
I’m not sure a campus lock down or shut down is possible on a campus that size with such a large number of students, faculty, staff.
I’ve been trying to follow the story on and off since this morning but missed a lot of the information that was released. I’ve been reading many of the posts on here and I’m impressed by all the well written, thoughtful posts.
I don't necessarily agree because the place is huge, and there was no indication that the horror was going to spread. Again, you don't lock down an entire city block when there is a domestic dispute.
Frankly, there isn't any indication that locking it down would have made any difference. After all, the killer pushed his way into a crowded classroom. That's exactly where they would have been even if there had been a lockdown.
