Gunman on Campus; Stay inside your building, away from windows; Shooting incident at West Ambler Johnston Hall

> I agree, it doesnt make sense: One shooter arrested this a.m., then another shooter dead later?
It is posssible that the shooter was shot, then arrested and later died from his wound(s).
I don't know where you went to college, but my professors didn't even wake up until 6 or 7AM. I don't think my comment was naive at all.
But, he lacks the cojones to say any such thing.
I agree... Allowing college students to carry arms into classrooms is not the solution. I’m in college and I would feel incredibly uncomfortable going to class surrounded my random people with firearms. College students drink a lot and do stupid things. They don’t need to be carrying guns around.
BTTT
Maybe his boyfriend is involved in the production.
Read it again. I never said they didn’t have a police force. I said campus police is a joke at most universities. But if it makes you feel better, you are so right. I am wrong and stupid .
This is not even worth arguing about especially when FR is moving slowing because people are looking for actual breaking news on this story.
I take it you’re offsite and okay. Is your son okay?
Actually, the arrticle was dated 1/31/06, not April 16.
Regardless, I think VPI would certainly like a do-over today.
Prayers to all affected by this tragedy.
Oh come on - what does a university (or even most smaller towns) need with a SWAT team. Our police are already become too militaristic and the expense to fund their toys are getting out of hands.
SWAT teams rarely save any lives in situations like this but storm the building after the shooters have already taken all the lives they intended to.
Let's not overreact like the liberals do.
Police htat were loaned a civilian's rifle that someone on campus had.

Used to be a college faculty. There are some who get up before the crack of dawn, and some who can’t say a lucid word before 10 am and only after a full pot of coffee. I was always on campus before 7, usually up before 5. My best friend was one of those who had to drink a full pot of coffee before saying good morning...
It just varies.
I don’t what to question how these kids acted ... I have never been in a situation, obviously, like that and pray I nor any of my family ever will. One thought does stick in my mind ... at Texas A&M, we also have a very active Corps of Cadets on campus, and every engineering class I ever was in had it’s share of Corps members in it. I would assume that Virginia Tech would as well. I just wonder if any of there guys were around in all of this ... maybe they weren’t or maybe they were powerless to do anything ... its just something running through my mind. That’s probably very unfair ... but the thought is there.
Yep, it's all about feelings, isn't it? To hell with reality.
Anyone know how close this is to the Statistics building? I just now put 2+2 together and remembered that my Cousin is a Stat Professor at VT... Sent him an email, but I haven’t heard back yet.
Yeah, that's helpful.
Terrorist use our own freedoms against with the sole purpose of disabling the Constitution.
In June, Tech’s governing board approved a violence prevention policy reiterating its ban on students or employees carrying guns and prohibiting visitors from bringing them into campus facilities.

Well......
That worked out well, didn’t it?
This whole terrible situation puts a whole different prospective on the RUTGER’s situation.... and nonstop story of the past 7 days.
I just hurt so badly for these students and their parents and what it does to their entire lives. It makes hurt feelings of the Rutgers’ team a lot less of a hot button issue.
