The assumption, already floating, is that the shooter "chained" the doors. Why couldn't an advisor or teacher have done this as a preventative measure?

My take on the chief’s double speak: I think the person of interest might be the boyfriend. Originally they thought the boyfriend had shot the girl in the dorm, and then shot the RA.

So obviously they were looking for the boyfriend.

Now we find out the guy in the Norris building is not the POI from the dorm...which I interpret as the guy who killed all the students was not the boyfriend.

Just my take on it.

I just talked (6:00 pm) to a student at VA Tech. She said that there were two bomb scares there the past two weeks and students are wondering why security wasn't - at least - heightened after those bomb scares. IF THEY HAD INCREASED SECURITY AS A RESULT OF THOSE BOMB SCARES, MAYBE THIS MURDERER WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN LOOSE ON THE CAMPUS WITH A WEAPON - WHETHER HE WAS A STUDENT OR SOMEONE WHO HAD HAD FREE ACCESS TO THE CAMPUS!!!!!!!!

Some students are even wondering if the bomb scares are related in some way to the shootings. Though this is probably not so...makes one wonder about "security" on this campus.

Also she said that she went to work (she is an Assist. to a Professor on campus) at 9:00 AM and no one had even emailed her or alerted her IN ANY WAY to the fact that the shooting at 7 a.m. had happened! By 9 am the college should have been in lockdown and students are really angry about that, since many of those murdered might not have left their dorm rooms.

I just watched the presser.

I saw absolutely nothing said about whether or not there were two different shooters.

Police Chief said he wouldn't comment until the ballistics tests were back from ATF.

The police are in an impossible situation here. How and where to start in such an outrageous crime. At the time they had to think more than one shooter. Let them unravel this before we criticize.

Earlier in this thread, i was informed that the one who took the video said that the explosion was the police breaching the doors.
