I can hear Katie Colon shouting questions at the officer speaking at the microphone.

I’m a dyed-in-the wool conservative, but to think that an armed student wouldn't shoot a gunman plugging rounds indiscriminately into his or her fellow students simply because they are politically liberal is beyond the realm of my comprehension.

Police chief said the girlfriend angle was just an angle they were persuing. They do NOT have a name for the shooter, he had no ID on him.

I don’t know where anyone said he was wearing a bullet-proof vest. One of the wounded described him as wearing a jacket. Someone else said a vest.
The only people who could tell us whether he was wearing a bullet proof vest would be the police, and they haven’t said.

Yeah, I don’t see any reason for a “jilted lover” to be walking around without his wallet and cellphone.

Students on campus have said that it was a student that was doing the shooting. I fail to see why others on this forum seem to think otherwise. I would imagine the kids on campus would know what they are talking about...especially those RIGHT on the scene of the shooting.

My son has three friends that go to VT. When you find a list of the victims, could you please post it? Not a good day to say the least.
Prayers up for all the victims.

Why do they need fingerprints at all? If this guy was an established member of the VT engineering department community, someone knew him and could ID him. Unless he isn’t a member of the community at all...
There’s not going to be a trial - the perp is dead. Why all this effort to gather evidence?
To: meg88
Well, I see you’re got all the answers, so we can just dispense with the press conference, huh?
31 people died today; maybe they’re in shock.

2 separate event scenario: I'm not buying it. Two separate events? That would be the ultimate coincidence.
To: toldyou
The two that hit the towers and the Pentagon?
Your asserted that the passengers on Flt93 did not have to overcome the muscle hijackers who you implied were present on the other flights.
Everything I have read claimed that indeed the flt 93 passengers had to overcome the muscle...the difference between the rest and 93 was the heros of 93 knew what the others on 175 etc did not understand that they were dead already. Had they known this they too might have rushed the cockpits...

In one of the on-line news phone interviews with one of the wounded, one of the surviving witnesses said the shooter opened the classroom door, emptied the magazine, and then slammed the door. My sister in law is an RN at Montgomery Regional and she had a patient tell her the same story. A girl being treated for a gunshot tro her hand said they shooter burst in the room and fired indiscriminately and then went to next class. The students barricaded the door and he came back...shooting into the door.

It certainly seems like it.
If it had been a “white boy” (caucasian for those in rio linda), the MSM would have had his tormented, bullied, victimology all over the front page by now.
The only time they take so long is if it involves a potential to reinforce conservative points.
I think this settles the debate that unarmed citizens are dead citizens.

You cant protect students from unpredictable crazy people, intent on killing.
I disagree. this guy wasn’t crazy. he was cold, calculating, had it planned, knew his way around and was familiar with where he could do the most damage. he WAS intent on killing as many as he could.
I’m not sure I buy the girlfriend angle so I’m withholding judgement until more info comes in. BUT, in most cases where there is a triangle involved, the object of scorn is killed first, then the shooter offs himself/herself. end of story.
There is much more to this than meets the eye IMHO..

Are we sure yet that there was a shooting of a girlfriend, or that - if there was - it was related to the later shootings? There was a shooting, but like you said, we don't know if that was actually the same shooter from later or if the girlfriend/RA thing is even true. Rumors fly like crazy.
