I'm going to go out on a limb and say none. It probably took him at least a couple of days to get that vest. I've never seen any shops in this area selling vests. I'd say he ordered it online. I'd be interested to see what his credit/debit card transactions look like. I'm sure that's being done as we speak.
My wife is a high school math teacher. Any threat, and they go into lock down.
It seems like
1. There was a shooting in the morning. Temporary lock down put in place (for how long?), but then lifted or wasn’t campus wide.
2. Two hours later, perp enters into a class room (in session or in lock down?) and starts shooting. Did he attack more than one room? What about the reports of chains, bullet proof vests, etc?
At the very least, there was a massive break down in the incident procedures of the school.
Sadly, their property thinks they have a boyfriend...

the press conference is being delayed - here comes the Columbine style cover up and misdirection - they really have no good way of explaining why the campus wasn’t locked down after the first shooting.
Actually, the FBI show up on the scene of these types of things as standard procedure post-9/11. Just because the FBI is there doesn’t necessarily mean anything.

Actually the jilted boyfriend theory is not what the TV talking heads are speculating, it’s what the students on campus are telling people, albeit much of its seems to be second or third-hand. It’s not being put out there by the authorities.
If it was in fact his girlfriend and her RA he shot in the 7:15 shooting, then I’ll bet this guy was a loser along the lines of Harris and Klebold - acquired weapons and vest, etc., not for self-defense but to make himself feel like a hard guy, was probably heavy into imaginary killing via videogames, and to top it off may have been angered if his “girlfriend” was messing around with other people, the “hook-up” culture on campus, especially if he was from a traditional muslim or hindu background. He was probably inadequate in the classroom as well as the bedroom, and being of foreign background perhaps led him into a generalized anger against other students generally, basically a ticking time bomb.
Just speculation, of course.
Todd Schnitt Radio Show heard thru back channels shooter wa muslim but is just SPECULATION at this time (I’m sure Schnitt doesn’t want to be Imus’d.
Not to mention the fact that, in an auditorium-style classroom, if he came in from the back, he’d be shooting down toward the students’ heads, and obviously get the first pops off from behind. Anybody wanting to get to him would have to get out to an aisle and then charge up a slope or steps that may already have bodies or blood on them.
I must admit, though, I’m still stunned that one person could rack up 30+ dead and 20+ wounded with, according to MSLSD, one 9mm semiauto and one .22 semiauto.

I think it was an explosion in Michigan back in the teens of the 20th century.
Unless you are law enforcement or military, you can’t even get a bullet proof vests in most parts of the country.

Your scenario raises a couple of questions. Was he looking for the girlfriend or was the girlfriend already dead at the time of the main attack? Why can’t they identify the boyfriend through the dead girlfriend? Surely someone knew they were dating.
On the other hand, some thought the Cory Lidle accident was another 9/11. I don’t know, it just seems to be that if the facts are as they have been portrayed, we should know far more than we do as of the moment. I could be wrong.
Maybe you (and all the other posters) should stop acting as if an age group is the very same as a racial or religious group (funny how we can spout how bad Moslems are, but not college kids).

It's really quite simple - you want to limit voting based on the portrayals of people 18-21 you see on the MSM. I think we need fewer restrictions on rights, not more.
MSNBC just reported that law enforcement has told them that they are having trouble identifying the shooter.
He was carrying no cell phone, no ID, his fingerprints brought up nothing, and he shot himself in the face, thus disfiguring himself.
Now saying they are going to try to trace him through the serial numbers on the guns.
Nah...this wasn’t premeditated.
Some idiot on FOX is saying that VT is at fault for not having a warning system in place that call every dorm room and tell students to lock their doors and not leave their rooms. Well, if they had this system, the shooter would have known about it and planned accordingly. You can’t protect students from unpredictable crazy people, intent on killing.
