There is a reason the buzz today is about Fred Thompson, and not Rudy McRomney.

There is no chance at all I’ll support Romney, or McCain, or Guiliani as things stand today.

If the GOP insists on ignoring the base, as they did from the moment of President Bush’s second Inaugural, 08 will be worse for the Republican Party than 06 was.

Great post. I agree.

If the Republican Party ingores its base--'08 will be a disaster. I wish them well, though with their NEW PARTY--as the energy, passion, enthusiasm and volunteer time that the base provides WILL be missing (TURNOUT DOES MATTER).

By morphing the Party into something unrecognizable (except to liberals)--the Party will deserve to lose. And they will lose big--as state and local candidates will suffer even more as the base goes 'elsewhere'.

Just look at the '06 Election--where 13 million votes were cast for Libertarian Party candidates (includes state, local, etc. elections). I submit that many of those were frustrated conservatives--frustrated with the continued movement to the LEFT. JulieAnnie will ACCELERATE THAT LEFTWARD movement--so even MORE will abandon the Party.

If you want to split the Party WIDE OPEN--JULIEANNIE IS JUST THE MAN FOR THE JOB!!
