Thread 4
Since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, our nation has fought a global war against violent extremists who use terrorism as their weapon of choice, and who seek to destroy our free way of life. Our enemies seek weapons of mass destruction and, if they are successful, will likely attempt to use them in their conflict with free people everywhere. Currently, the struggle is centered in Iraq and Afghanistan, but we will need to be prepared and arranged to successfully defend our nation and its interests around the globe for years to come. DOD
Our enemies include all the Muslims who dream of knocking Western Civilization off its perch atop humanityâs dung heap. Islam is fractured into any number of sects, tribes and ethnic groups, but the dream of destroying us cuts across all the fault lines. Islamic terrorists are merely the tip of a very large spear.
J. Peter Mulhern, the American Thinker, September 18
The determination behind that fight is real, the hatred is real, and the excuses for doing this are very real in the minds of those who have decided to walk that path. We can respond in two ways: Try to ignore or negotiate with people who do not want to negotiate in good faith, because what they want is our destruction, or to stand up against the darkness of those who see all of us, our way of life, our culture and our aspirations as something worth eliminating.
Either: "And God willing, with the force of God behind it, we shall soon experience a world without the United States and Zionism," Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
Or: "With vigilance, determination, courage, we will defeat the enemies of freedom, and we will leave behind a more peaceful world for our children and our grandchildren." GW Bush.

Mornin. Beautiful day here in Fl.
How is the situation with the smoke?
I can smell it slieghtly but not visable today due to wind shifting.
Training flights are conducted so frequently and tend to fall into the “routine”, which is exactly when a jet fighter will turn around and bite.....
Our boy’s should be allowed to train on them :)
That’s a good thing. Read where there were 220 fires in FL as of yesterday (not all equally big, of course)
Having to breath that smoke for very long is tough, and the worse part is you can’t go anywhere to get away from it.
That is the truth.
Isn’t Khuzestan a thorn in the side of the Mullahs? Believe that’s where AquaVelva-jad called off his supposed visit and a bomb went off around the scheduled time...

Sunni and Shi’ite leaders in the state of Michigan which has one of the largest Arab-American communities in the US signed a pact Thursday affirming their commitment to speak out against conflicts between the two Islamic sects.
The “Intra-Faith Code of Honor” is designed to decrease the likelihood of the sectarian tensions between Sunnis and Shi’ites in war-ravaged Iraq from occurring in the US. The Detroit-area is home to about 300,000 Arab-Americans, including many Iraqi immigrants.
“The meeting was to come together, particularly with all the rumors and speculation that there are problems,” said Victor Ghalib Begg, chairman of the Council of Islamic Organizations of Michigan. “It’s important that we celebrate our diversity and have a good system in place in case something does happen.”
Under the code, local Muslim leaders from each sect have pledged not to say disparaging things about the other.

Olmert Wants to Testify Again
(IsraelNN.com) Aides to Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Thursday that Olmert wants to testify before the Winograd Commission a second time. Much of the criticism against Olmert was based on testimony from Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, they said, and Olmert did not agree with her version of events. According to the aides, Olmert wants to testify again in order to set things straight. Livni told the commission about things that never, ever were, one aide said.
As an example, Livni told the commission that she pushed for a diplomatic solution from the beginning, and warned Olmert to make sure fighting ended quickly on the second day of the war. Olmert argues that the conversation Livni mentioned never took place, and that Livni did not speak of a political goal to the fighting until much later.
