Praying for y'all. We're looking at a major snow event up here with power outages and I just took off my snow tires! I know, tornadoes are worse, so.......Be careful out there!

You said — “In fact, Ive read that some died in the Moore tornado because they hunkered down when they could have got out of the way.”

You know..., if I know that a big one is coming directly my way, I’m *not* hunkering down. I’m getting in the car and driving out of there. It’s that simple. I mean, all you got to be is just several blocks one way or the other, out of it’s way and you’re going to be better off than the thing rolling right over your house and you being in it.

I guess I don’t know about that idea of hunkering down....

Same here. Especially with radar as good as it is now.
You could know the general direction is was moving.
The biggest risk trying to outrun one would probably
traffic jams or other tornadoes.
But Im not sitting and waiting for an f4-f5 to arrive.

I base it on an article I read somehwere but couldnt find the link. Statistically speaking DFW is way overdue.

http://www.stormtrack.org/forum/showthread.php?t=8510&page=2

“There’s no one place that’s more tornado prone than the other south of the Red River.”

Exactly, that is why we are due one.
They are spread out randomly over time and our time hasnt came lately. An F4 or even a long lived F3 is probably long overdue for this area of tornado alley.
At least thats what most of the weather gurus say, and considering my lifetime of 43 years here without seeing a major tornado I agree.

Are you SERIOUS? Your source here is a FREAKIN’ MESSAGE BOARD! I truthfully can’t take anything you say seriously if you are going to post that drivel as evidence of something. You might as well have referenced your own statements of proof of your own statements! This is, after all, a message board itself!

>>An F4 or even a long lived F3 is probably long overdue for this area of tornado alley.<<

An F1/F2 came less than 48 hours ago. An F2/F3 hit FW and Arlington in 2000. A little before that, an F4 hit Lancaster. Your statement is factually incorrect.

There is no place that is “overdue” for weather events. Its totally random.

Settle Down Sanjaya, you will probably survive it.

Being as you are an a..hole about it Ive lost interest in talking to you, and in light of you asking me to produce evidence of future events...I can no longer take you seriously either.

Plenty of people believe the metroplex area is overdue. You know nothing they dont.

>>Being as you are an a..hole <<

Oh, I didn’t realize I was dealing with a crybaby who got his feelings hurt when asked to support his argument. When someone supports a so-called theory by pointing to a random internet message board, I’m sorry to say, I find that laughable. That doesn’t make me an a..hole, but think what you want.

>>you asking me to produce evidence of future events..<<

I didn’t ask you to produce evidence of future events, I asked you to support your premise that DFW was “overdue” for what is a random event. If you don’t know the difference go back to playing games and get off a serious forum.

>>I can no longer take you seriously either.<<

Please don’t.

>>Plenty of people believe the metroplex area is overdue. <<

Plenty of people believe we didn’t land on the moon.

Again, I’ll ask: how can a place be “overdue” for a random event? Is there anything specific in the DFW geography (or other earth science) that makes DFW more prone than, say Waco, to a tornado? You ignored the fact that we’ve been hit by at least one (and maybe 2) F4 tornadoes (old scale; not up on the new one) in the last 10 or so years.
