"and then cited a completely irrelevant definition for it." The author cited a definition that is based on a source that can be commonly cited as non-biased and authoritative.
The source of that definition obviously comes from the intent of the founding fathers and the constitution.
I think that's quite relevant and appropriate.

Pelosi - and many others - are duly elected representatives
But they are NOT part of the Executive Branch and they were NOT appointed to be ambassadors on behalf of the United States. Also, one of the members on that trip, Tom Lantos, stated, "We have an alternative Democratic foreign policy."
BTW, how exactly is the Logan Act unconstitutional and VIOLATING ARCTICLE 2, SECTION 2 constitutional?

I think that's quite relevant and appropriate. I don't. If we're going to talk about nailing people for treason, then we need to use the legal definition of treason. The definition of treason in the Constitution was carefully crafted to exclude a lot of things that are and were considered treason by many.
To: antiRepublicrat
Well we will have to agree to disagree then. Appreciate the posts and explanation of your viewpoint - it’s what FR is all about.

It wasn't a comment on the subject, but a comment on the article. The author brought up the issue of treason in this context and then cited a completely irrelevant definition for it.
And I gave you the RELEVANT definition of Treason according to our Constitution and am inquiring how the actions of the leadership of the Democratic Party are not giving the enemy confort.

Great idea! Attack our ally. Since Atta was Egyptian I’ll assume that Egypt is also on your hit-list.

The correct word is sedition and the Dems are full of this lowly trait. They give comfort to our enemies and constitute a dangerous 5th column in this country.

Even without the attacks of 9/11, we and our allies were right to finally topple Saddam’s regime. I find it disturbing that many people have conveniently forgotten all of the UN Resolutions that Saddam defied. Justice was finally served to all of those who fought and died during Desert Storm. He started that war, he was allowed to remain in power IF he complied with the UN Resolutions. He chose not to and something HAD to be done.

Not if the last election is any indication. It certainly was disturbing wasn't it? Lots of very, very close races though is reason for optimism. The 'rat frontrunners in 2008, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, is reason for more optimism.

I agree with Melanie. If you don’t support our Troops and their mission in a time of war Shut the hell up! Just because you voted for appeasement in a congressional election does NOT make you Commander in Chief of our armed forces!
