(CBS) GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J. New Jersey Gov. Jon S. Corzine was injured Thursday night in a car accident on the Garden State Parkway, but a spokesman says the injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Democratic U.S. Sen. Jon Corzine was elected governor of New Jersey in November 2006, soundly beating Republican businessman Doug Forrester in a race that set records for campaign spending but alienated voters with its mean-spirited politicking. With 97 percent of precincts reporting, Corzine had 53 percent to Forrester's 44 percent.
But he’s on his way to mediate peoples feelings over a tasteless Joke? This is a Governor? NJ people are paying their top executive for this? Holy crap, NJ, you people need a wake up call.
Your state is going belly up over pension funds, and your Governor is playing psychologist with Imus and some wining kids.
Wow, you paint a serious picture, and I think you are right.
Also, I think the dark color of his vehicle, just before sun going down, on rainy day, probably moving between 70 and 90 MPH, other drivers just did not see him coming.
And with these new laws, who will thy expect to charge?
If he was speeding and driving too fast for conditions, I see how this can be characterized as hit and run. It would be dirty.
Some one has to ask some questions. Looks like we also might see corzine doing PSAs for seatbelts.
its the mike neefong school of justice...
disgusting.
NJ justice. I trust LE. Sure.
I sincerely hope he recovers fully, but anyone who doesn't buckle up is a dumb schmuck as far as I'm concerned.
This thing smells.
Questions need to be asked about speed. Was the governor late to the meeting? How about his easy pass records if he went thru any of those gates.
I noticed that little tid bit, also. The lamestream media never ceases to amaze me with their blatant bias.
Is Corzine a male or a female?
I don’t keep up too much with NJ politics. Lived there during my army career for about half a year. Loved the seashore....hated the toll booths.
Hope their governor recuperates well.
Corzine is a man. Well, a male. Well, he has a beard.
I hope he recovers, but the irony of a nanny-stater like him being injured because he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt jumps off the page. I guess he is above the law, which is there to protect the little people who are too dumb to protect themselves.
To those who think the belt would have hurt him, note that the others in the accident received only minor injuries. State Troopers are smart enough to know to wear them.
Again, I hope his recovery is complete and rapid.
In case no one has told you, if you have pistoles, DON'T bring them to New York.
I'm going to Nanuet. And I'm only armed with my sharp wit.
no one wants to see him injured. But the irony is dripping.
Many thanks! I despair that my vote might not count for much more than it does in the People's Republic of Washington, but then I remember that NY elects a Republican about twice as often as we do here in WA. Governor John Spellman, and Senator Slade Gorton were the only significant ones in the last thirty years. The rest have all been Rats. And right now, both Senators, and our Governor are all feminazis.
NY might well be rid of Hillary someday soon. WA will never get rid of the b!tchocracy.
Live presser coming up here:http://media.myfoxtwincities.com/livestream/web_channel/index.htm
Doc says he is still on the ventilator .. he’s awake but heavily sedated but can answer yes or no questions
Doc also said that from the injuries and the pictures he has seen of the accident .. Corzine is lucky to be alive
presser is over .. another presser will be later today at the state building
Sounds like he’s got a long, long recovery ahead of him.
