Nifong Issues Apology to Ex-Lacrosse Players

Durham — The local prosecutor who charged three Duke lacrosse players with raping a stripper apologized Thursday, acknowledging the decision of state prosecutors to dismiss all charges against them was correct.
"To the extent that I made judgments that ultimately proved to be incorrect, I apologize to the three students that were wrongly accused," Durham County District Attorney Mike Nifong said in a statement.
I was listening to Fox in my car and old Greta was beside herself with Nifong’s apology. She gets on my nerves but she sure was ripping him a new one, lol!
So long as we’re at it, who do y’all think is worse:
A: Don Imus, who said something offensive (like he hadn’t done THAT before) and was subsequently fired by both MSNBC and CBS Radio, or
B: Mike Nifong, who insisted on prosecuting three lacrosse players for about a year, even when the case started going south, and still has his job?
i was afraid to hope that he’d get his just desserts, til yesterday... now i think it really can happen!
he might be on the hook because of the withheld DNA evidence. That smacks of fraud, and may take it outside the scope of his official duty.
I won’t be happy unless the professors get it too. Nifong has already been done. The “professors” get to sit in their ivory towers and judge others. They sicken me. Maybe I should stop saving for my kids’ college education.
I think the thinking goes that evidently this women has SERIOUS mental problems, thus would be unlikely to be convicted. I don’t blame him for this, and I doubt the families do either. There are crazy people out there— you expect those in power to not use them.

I want all of this ugliness aired for the entire world to see. I want everyone to see what a lie will do. Kirk Osborn is pushing up daisies, a cop in our town is too. I want everyone in the whole wide frickin’ world to know exactly how to define “scum of the earth” before it’s over. I don’t want him hung, I want him to live with his shame and every potential liar to see what they’ll face — if not in this life, then the next. It’ll be a level playing field then folks — wanna’ dance???
Exactly and as I have said over and over here, hooker lie to the police and DAs every single day in this country. We should not be surprised by that. What was different this time a DA chose to run with the lies to win an election.
But, part of being a liberal means never admitting you’re wrong.
As a footnote, I hope those boys learned their lesson regarding being associated with people of questionable character.
I think the AG’s remarks and use of “rogue prosecutor” as well as declaring them INNOCENY sent a clear signal to the ethics committee that Nifong has to go down because he has tainted them all.
It's just that Duke's morally threadbare condition has now been exposed for all to see.
“INNOCENY”? You must have missed it when it was spelled yesterday at the press conference. (Just kidding). I’m trying to save you from being labeled a maroon and seriesly wounded by the exacting spelling bee champs on FR. ;-)
