A gay rights activist group plans to hold a press conference at Patrick Henry College in Purcellville Thursday in an attempt to convince the college to change its policies toward gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.
Patrick Henry College, a conservative Christian college, does not plan on welcoming the Soulforce Equality Riders onto campus. College spokesman David Halbrook said the school has requested the presence of town and county law enforcement to bar the activist group from campus.
According to a press release from Equality Loudoun, a local group promoting Soulforce's visit, the group will arrive at Patrick Henry College for a press conference at 10:15 a.m. Thursday.
Soulforce began its tour of college campuses last year, when participants traveled to 19 schools and engaged students, faculty and administrators in conversations "about the homophobic doctrine, the false notion that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender identities are sick and sinful," according to the group's Web site.

The college offered to meet with them and debate off campus, but they declined, choosing rather to make a big scene outside the campus. The campus will be off-limits to them, so they are having a press conference now.
My son attends PHC and may be involved in a team who wants to get the story out from the PHC view, rather than the pro-homosexual/anti-Christian spin that will be put forth by the MSM.
Please pray for the safety of the students, and that they will honor God in the way they handle this situation.
Thanks!
There will also be many other homosexual activists joining them for this protest... perhaps as many as 200... kind of overwhelming for a school with a student body of 300.
When we stand for truth, we will be attacked.
Why not have other sexual fetish behavior join them.
Does that school have a bondage club?
Does the school have an animal sex club?
Those are no different than homosexuality, this bus ride should include them too.
You and PHC have my prayers. I’m glad to see the president standing up for the rights of the college and Christian principles!
My husband starts teaching at a local Christian university in a couple of weeks, one that recently suffered an assault by the “transgendered” activists. Now is a time to stay strong, lean on your faith and not fall victim to political correctness!
God bless
Isn’t there a Muslim campus within 20 miles of PHC? I dare them! Unfortunately for PHC, neighboring Leesburg (the County seat) has become a liberal stronghold. I’m sure some limosine liberal is funding this mockery of “wanting a dialogue” so that they can be Loud and Proud.
They did the same thing last week down at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. BJU didn’t budge...doubt they ever will.
Second, isn’t this a private institution? Wouldn’t this g/l/t group be trespassing? (I know, I need to read the whole article!)
Just like the brownshirted bully boys in Germany years ago
out looking for a fight.
And the Nazi bullies were led by gay guys too like Ernst Rohm.
My son, home for Easter, told me that his school, Cedarville U., intends to attempt ministering to this group. I expressed my concerns regarding the media event agenda I expect them to pursue. He says they have been very much in prayer for months over this and have been preparing extensively for their arrival. I understand that the school has tracked other schools’ experiences closely in making their own preparations. Their arrival is scheduled for April 19.
Bridge the gap? Hell no. These deviants already burned the bridge! Their idea is for us Christians to pay for a new bridge, then cross over to their side and get down on our knees or turn around and bend over, if you get my drift.
Yes, it was started as a college for homeschoolers. We homeschooled him from 1st grade on and are still homeschooling his 3 younger brothers, one of whom will graduate from high school this year.
Yes, it is private property, and yes it will be trespassing and the 60 police officers stationed on campus today will enforce it. Getting arrested is just what they like to have done. It makes the school look so much more ‘closed minded’ don’tcha know.
