SHARPTON VOWS MORE: 'It is our feeling that this is only the beginning. We must have a broad discussion on what is permitted and not permitted in terms the airwaves'... Developing...
“Any attempt to control the airwaves will probably be struck down by the USSC.”
Ok, so George Carlin’s 7 words are all fine to say over the airwaves now?
Oh, and this is the same USSC that rendered the Kelo v. New London ruling?
Ok.
Who needs The Fairness Doctrine when you have rent a mobs?
Fairness Doctrine? Review board for all talk show hosts except NPR and Air America?
Just in time for the election, too.
OK, that’s my rational side. Now for some paranoid moonbattery- Dierdre Imus is the real target because of all the yapping she does about the medical establishment- it’s the people who supply toxic cleaning compounds to hospitals ganging up with the people who put mercury in vaccines trying to silence her by removing her mouthpiece and pulpit.
Scoff if you want, but the First Amendment is pretty much sacrosanct, and even leftis jurors are likely to strike that one down. After all, one day some of this nonsense will bite them on their rears when it’s THEIR free speech that is struck down. Nevertheless, we must vigorously protest any attempts at censorship.
This is great. To use the parlance of the street, SET IT OFF! Baby, its on. This is the spark that’s gonna start the rumble we need in this country.
This is a FREE SPEECH Fort Sumter Moment, in terms of free speech, and now we can finally blast these liberal bastards back.
They want thought control? They want permitted speech? Well F**K Sharpton and His Mugabe Loving, Obama Embracing, Nappy Headed Ho— fellow travelers.
One DUmmie tries to tell me what I can and cant say, and I will Reginald Denny his ass...
OH don’t remember Reginald Denny— GOOGLE IT you queers...
END OF RANT...
Did he do that this morning?
I know Peach. The division I see here on FR between conservatives has me worried. We better pull together or we are going to end up with Hillary for President.
Al owes the Duke lacrosse team a public apology before he is allowed to say one more thing on the airwaves. ;)
Keep your powder dry boys, it maybe time to start taking these people to task the old fashioned way.
We must create our own list. Michelle Malkin made a good start in her column yesterday.
That's exactly what this is; people should be very, very worried.
“They will shut down Talk Radio in the name of Free Speech..............”
That is a fact. I’m willing to bet on it. We will look back on this as the golden age of talk radio. The left is completely aware that it’s tough to drive the sheeple with conservative outlets stirring things up.
It won’t be overnight, but you will see more and more pressure on conservative talk, “fairness”, attempts to limit speech, fines, and required liberal shows for “balance”.
FOX is a goner. Don’t count on Fox to expose anything but, Megyn Kelly’s legs or Anna Nicole Smith’s last centerfold. They are for all intents and purposes a garbage network (with the exception of Cavuto and Hume—its a waste of time.) Haven’t you noticed since the Elections the leftward slide? They won’t go after Sharpton, or he won’t appear on their shows—they understand ratings. They have learned how to game the base...
Who died and made Sharpton King of all Blacks (using a Howard Stern phrase)?
The SCOTUS has ruled, apparently, that the US airwaves are the plaything of the Congress, and as such can restrict their use to whatever suits their whim......
You bet they are; last night, Keith Olbermann held up pictures of Rush, Boortz, Savage, Beck, and a few others and said to Jesse Jackson, “What about these people; don’t you need to go after them, too?”
I wouldn't be so sure. Read up on Campaign Finance "Reform".
I heard that; it is stunning.
