I was listening to the Laura Ingraham radio show today and they were talking about how some cars are girly cars and some are manly cars. Laura was particularly mentioning that the Mazda Miata was a girly car. This was news to me. Her assisitant chimed in with saying the Mazda 3 was a girly car. This was also news to me. I'm in the market for a new car and was thinking of buying the MAzda 3 or a Miata. I've been told that the 3 has fewer service issues than other Mazda cars.
Of course one would gather that the manly cars would be trucks.
One girly car I've noticed is the VW Beetle. I've never seen a man driving one of those.
What do Freepers think? What cars are girly cars and what cars are manly cars.
there are a bunch of sporty cars that they market directly to women. I once owned the Nissan 240SX and that was kind of a girly car also...but the Miata was the queen of girly cars!
Girly cars? Mustang convertibles. Pontiac Sunbirds. VW Rabbit convertibles. Anything that pretends to be a sports car but that lacks the true testosterone to qualify (Z4 BMWs, Boxster Porsches, etc.). And minivans of all sizes and stripes. A real man would rather ride a Vespa than drive a minivan.
Men's cars? Ferrari anything. Porsche anything but the Boxster. Stretch Benz's. XJ and XK Jags. Anything that does NOT have a hatchback. Anything with a Hemi (put one on a baby buggy and it's still a man's vehicle). Pickups. Except for mini-pickups with spoilers and crap. Those are for poofs and wannabes. Corvettes, as long as they're pre-70. Too many women got the Malibu Barbie thing going with the post-70's Vettes.
And then there are the cars NO ONE will drive, regardless of gender or sexual orientation. I'm talking about Peugot, Citroen, Yugo, etc.. Cars that are so hideously ugly they could only be the product of Serbo-Croatian or French inspiration.

Unnngh. Tried sitting in one of those.
Cramped & uncomfortable.
You missed the .45 hole in the side of the bed.
This woman’s dream car would be a metallic black Avalanche!
NO way my budget will ever afford one, but I can dream.
Of course, the perfect car would come with a driver!
In my younger single years, I drove a gal who’s muffin reminded me of post #12...
I'm working on getting one just like it. Right now, I have a really small car.
And for the hopelessly flaccid.......a Gremlin.
If you think a tiny two-seater like a Miata is a girly car, a car along the same lines was good enough for Sean Connery as James Bond, damnit. And if you think that whipping a little roadster around hairpin curves shooting gravel is girly, brother, you havent lived.
My wife owned one of the early ones, and it was a blast to drive (though not on the freeway congested with truck bumpers at teeth level.)
the Miata is roomy?
try the Pontiac G6 convertible - more $$$s, but the hardtop is more practical as an all year round, all weather car.
The Viper is the classic for that. Ferraris on the Euro side.

What more can I say?
True
It's amazing how many serial killers drive old beetles and VW wagons.
You're right..."code" for those that prefer being down under.
Most cars are girly cars. So are most SUV’s.
Beemers tend to be fairly masculine for some reason. The only SUV’s that are manly are the old wide Hummer, not the H-2, which is the ladies’ Hummer. Excursions can also be masculine. I know some Excursions are driven by females, but alot of contractors have them too.
But it's black and tan ... like a doberman or rottweiler. And it's mean ... and fast. Yeah, that's right. I'm bad. B-b-b-b-b-ad to the bone.
