Gingrich, Kerry to Debate 'Climate Change'

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Sen. John Kerry will debate the issue of climate change next week, their staffs announced Thursday.

The debate, hosted by New York University’s John Brademas Center for the Study of Congress, will take place on Tuesday morning, April 10, in the Russell Senate Office Building, according to the Washington, D.C.-based publication The Hill.

Kerry, D-Mass., has been dubbed an "environmental champion” by the non-partisan League of Conservation Voters. He and his wife Teresa Heinz Kerry recently wrote "This Moment on Earth,” which deals with climate change and preserving the environment.

Gingrich, the Georgia Republican and architect of the "Contract with America” that led to the Republican takeover of the House in 1994, recently joined conservationist Terry Maple to author "A Contract with the Earth.” Due out Nov. 1, it is based on a 10-point "contract” calling for a bipartisan approach to solving climate issues.

"America should focus its energy policy in four areas,” Gingrich writes on his Web site. "Basic research for a new energy system, incentives for conservation, more renewable resources, and environmentally sound development of fossil fuels.

"The lengthy process of environmental planning must be made more efficient and cost effective.”

I beg to differ. Dole and Clinton are surely past their prime or usefulness, if one assumes they each had any.

Kerry needs to be taken apart (he is robotic after all) and sent off to wherever useless libs go.

Dayum! This has got to be a media 'set-up.'

Kerry could barely hold his own debating GW. What does he expect to happen to him in a debate against Newt? Unless Kerry and the media have planned a perfect ‘set-up,’ (and that is quite possible) Kerry is poised to be publicly humiliated by Newt, along with the whole Global Warming issue.

He is either THAT arrogant, or is perfectly confident in the ruse.

“I remember Christmas of 1968 sitting on a gunboat in Cambodia. I remember what it was like to be shot at by Vietnamese and Khmer Rouge and Cambodians, and have the president of the United States telling the American people that I was not there; the troops were not in Cambodia.”

“I have that memory which is seared — seared — in me.”

On that very day folks, the searing heat of Global Warming began. The man himself discovered Global Warming. Gingrich doesn’t have a chance with this expert. /s/

:[: stupid Kerry comes across... he will still be touted by the DBM and elected again in MA for as long as he wishes to 'serve'. This 'debate' means nothing... in fact, just having Gingrich representing the sane response will hurt it. The press has already reduced him to pariah status.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the questions are drawn from Kerry's new book...

Kerry is a mental midget and Newt’s intelligence is so far superior, it will be an easy kill...

Of the two, only Newt might actually be seeking the presidency. So, like all good politicians in search of higher office, News will try to win on some points while conceding others. Newt knows that even some dumbass democrats could be persuaded to vote for him.

I don't hold any high hopes of Newt speaking for our side on the global warming issue. It's bipartisanship time, you know.

You have dubbed Theresa heinz the Pickle Princess. well really she married the prince and got his money, then she married the gigolo. They make a good pair they are both users. If I could buy them for what they are worth and sell them for what they think they are worth, I could be a zillionaire.

I wonder if Newt will be prohibited from bringing up the massive waste that Kerry generates from his 4 or 5 mansions and his childish playboy jaunts all over the world (not that I wouldn’t do a few, if I had the money).

Al Gore would not consent to a debate at this time, because he doesn't have to. He's a hero to the left-wing.

John Kerry, on the other hand, would volunteer to be that goofy kid's hairdresser on American Idol if it would provide some exposure. Or holding George Hamilton;s reflective mirror in the chip commercial.

One of the things that distresses me most is when I go in and out of stores, library, etc.

and I walk pass people sitting there idling their engines for 5-10 minutes waiting for someone to go in and out, and the temperature outside is neither cold or hot (so there is no need to run the heater or a/c.

What kind of money do these folks have to burn???

I want to say, write me a check for the money you are wasting if you have too much.

Then there is the additional exhaust fumes thrown into the atmosphere. I am no enviro mind you, but waste not want not...you know?

>Maybe they could have picked a subject that was important and real as well as being IMPORTANT to America, like open borders, confiscatory increasing taxation (thank you socialists), national defense, our war on terror...the list goes on.<

Oh, the host for the debate wouldn’t be interested in any of those subjects, Eagle. Gingrich will win, hands down, but why waste his breath debating John Kerry? Will he win votes for the GOP? Or will he be pelted with jelly beans?

Speaking about pelting, what has happened to the left?

They have beoome so empty and crass that they have to lay down in front of car, and pelt them with whatever.

You know what they say, “when you don’t have the argument and facts in your favor, rely on emotional hyperbole”.
