Well until November 2000, that’s roughly what we had for almost 50 years. I do think there may be a realignment but hopefully Bush and Congress didn’t kill it prematurely with their big government ways. The realignment, if there is one, rests in 1980 and 1994, not 2000. We’ve got to get back to that but I don’t know at this point if it’s possible, especially in Congress.

I’ve always held that the “realignment” in favor of the GOP was {sadly} just a short counter-trend.
