Perhaps one reason might be related to the August 18,1920 ratification of the nineteenth amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America, and the inability of the various states to see beyond 1920. It only took 87 years, not counting the push for ERA, and now we face the possibility of a potential female President as well.
Women who fail to see the importance of rearing generation upon generation of honorable and brave men and women of high moral character, have lost sight of their real power and value. Plus they stand to inherit all of their overworked husband’s wealth upon his death. What in God’s holy name would drive them to reach for more?
Oh I can’t wait to hear (so to speak) the responses to this one. Should I put on my fireproof panties? Would it help?
Male suffrage should be reserved to property owners.
Not going to get any arguments from this woman. This is also a reason why women should not be pastors. I know a lot of very good women legislators but in general, I agree with you.
Carolyn
Oh give it a rest. Take a look at the Democrat party. There are as many stupid MEN as their are women.
“Oh I cant wait to hear (so to speak) the responses to this one. Should I put on my fireproof panties? Would it help?”
OK, I’ll speak. My dad told me the same thing way back in the early 1940s. I thought he was wrong, but as Mark Twain said, “Every year the old man gets smarter and smarter.”
After our coming civil war is over I’d like to see us start all over with the Constitution the Framers gave us.
Discussing this will take lots of bandwidth, but we have to discuss how and why old, stable civilizations have not permitted women to run things.
I’ll join you with flame proof garments for my own proteciton.
While possessing great wisdom on interpersonal relations, I would not trust the security of the country to these ladies.
They are incredibly naive, limited in knowledge, and in thrall to faddish cliches about foreign policy.
How's that ?
At this juncture, given a choice between millions of these women voting, and losing my own vote, ....I would honestly rather be safe and trust the men.
Women only received the right to vote in Switzerland in 1971.
Boy did you spin off a bit from the subject.
Pretty lame.
As for 1920, perhaps you should look beyond it too. Women were allowed to vote before 1920 in the US, just states were not FORCED to allow them.
“Women who fail to see the importance of rearing generation upon generation of honorable and brave men and women of high moral character, have lost sight of their real power and value.”
Actually, I agree with that. I’m a nurse and a lawyer. I was considered quite competent in both fields. Before I learned what mattered, I thought my career was everything.
I grew up, found Jesus, gave up the careers and raised three wonderful kids, with the help of a wonderful man. When I look at how they turned out, I can’t help but think that I serve a wonderful God.
That line caught my attention. I'm not surprised at what followed.
I'm willing to be called a traitor to my gender in some areas, such as politics. From my readings, I gather that many women lean to the liberal side of the aisle. For sure there are also some who are innately conservative. I'm one and I know a few others.
Women...have lost sight of their real power and value.
I do question your "overworked husband" comment. Where is the compromise between mothers working full-time jobs versus dads having to work TOO hard?
I believe we can lay the blame for a lot of societal breakdown on NOW and other feminist organizations. I don't need to point out the obvious damages resulting from buying into their propaganda. It's all around us.
I suspect that the cost of goods, including homes, would not have soared to the extent they have if families relied on one spouse earning the income.
If prices had to meet the ability of a family to buy the product, and if the adults chose to live within their means, many companies would be left without customers. In most cases, hopefully, neither spouse would be "overworked".
It's a good idea to separate our wants from our needs!
