I just checked the calender-it’s not April 1...
Killer!
Excerpts from the article:
“HOUSE SPEAKER Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) offered an excellent demonstration yesterday of why members of Congress should not attempt to supplant the secretary of state when traveling abroad. After a meeting with Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad in Damascus, Ms. Pelosi announced that she had delivered a message from Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert that “Israel was ready to engage in peace talks” with Syria. What’s more, she added, Mr. Assad was ready to “resume the peace process” as well. Having announced this seeming diplomatic breakthrough, Ms. Pelosi suggested that her Kissingerian shuttle diplomacy was just getting started. “We expressed our interest in using our good offices in promoting peace between Israel and Syria,” she said.”
“Only one problem: The Israeli prime minister entrusted Ms. Pelosi with no such message. “What was communicated to the U.S. House Speaker does not contain any change in the policies of Israel,” said a statement quickly issued by the prime minister’s office. In fact, Mr. Olmert told Ms. Pelosi that “a number of Senate and House members who recently visited Damascus received the impression that despite the declarations of Bashar Assad, there is no change in the position of his country regarding a possible peace process with Israel.” In other words, Ms. Pelosi not only misrepresented Israel’s position but was virtually alone in failing to discern that Mr. Assad’s words were mere propaganda.”
The Post gets it right sometimes. You won’t be reading this in the NYTimes!
It’s pretty simple.
She thinks she has a mandate and she thinks she’s smarter than everyone in the Bush administration.
In short, she’s a fool.
I had the same response, I had to read it twice.
You want to choke, read the comments at the WP after the editorial, although it looks like some FRish folks were there already.
Translation: "Ain't we got fun!? Ain't we got power?!
Although it won't be highlighted anywhere else, the stunning naivety of this girl and her entourage reflects very poorly on those who voted her into the offices of the Speaker of the House.
HF
Having a really bad day when the Wash. Post criticizes anything a dem does.
Pelousy must really have screwed the pooch.
Reckon that will leave a mark? Or does it get ignored? You know how the MSM usually gloms on and piles on if it’s Bush being skewered.
It’s the moonbats’ Nixon in China moment, but they don’t have a clue about the thugocracy they’re embracing.
I had to do a double take to make sure I was reading the WaPo editorial and not one from the Wash. Times. Wow...that’s all I’ve got to say!
She will return grinning like a skunk eating manure and say what a great success her mission has been and pointing out that she succeeded where the President failed and the rest of the Dhimmies will say what a great queen she is.
Nothing will have changed. Except the Syrians will have had a good laugh at this clown faced woman.
The last line of the second paragraph is a humdinger.
This modern day Jezebel wants to take away all of the president’s authority and power with her office.
And the overwhelming Republican congressional response to this as a huge issue is WHAT? (sound of crickets chirping...)
This is what I would call a bitch slap.
