Well, hello there...((HUGS))
It is very late, I drove home in a terrible storm.
We attended the funeral of Sgt. Jason Swiger today..
It was a cold and sleeting day in Portland.
We had a large turnout for him...
When the Honor Gaurd took the casket from the hearse, the bagpipes were playing Amazing Grace..
After the service, he played “Oh Danny Boy”, as the reloaded the casket..
All was silent except for the bagpipes, the flapping of the flags in the wind, and the click of bootheels..
Gulls were circling overhead and crying as if they too, were lamenting.
I got a hug and kiss from the Uncle of Sgt. Swiger...
It was a very moving and spiritual day.
God rest thee well, Sgt. Swiger.
