~Favorite Movie Quotes ~

(”...But if you threaten to extend your violence, this Earth of yours will be reduced to a burned-out cinder. Your choice is simple. Join us and live in peace, or pursue your present course and face obliteration. We shall be waiting for your answer. The decision rests with you.”)

(”It started - for me, it started - last Thursday, in response to an urgent message from my nurse, I hurried home from a medical convention I’d been attending. At first glance, everything looked the same. It wasn’t. Something evil had taken possession of the town...”)(”Help! Wait! Stop. Stop and listen to me!...These people who’re coming after me are not human!...Look, you fools. You’re in danger. Can’t you see? They’re after you. They’re after all of us. Our wives, our children, everyone. They’re here already. YOU’RE NEXT!”)

(”It’s sad when a mother has to speak the words that condemn her own son. I couldn’t allow them to believe that I would commit murder. They’ll put him away now, as I should have, years ago. He was always bad and in the end, he intended to tell them I killed those girls and that man. As if I could do anything except just sit and stare, like one of his stuffed birds. Oh, they know I can’t even move a finger and I won’t. I’ll just sit here and be quiet, just in case they do suspect me. They’re probably watching me. Well, let them. Let them see what kind of a person I am. I’m not even gonna swat that fly. I hope they are watching. They’ll see. They’ll see and they’ll know and they’ll say, ‘Why, she wouldn’t even harm a fly.’”)

”(”...So we formed ourselves into tight groups...the idea was, the shark comes to the nearest man and he starts poundin’ and hollerin’ and screamin’. Sometimes the shark go away. Sometimes he wouldn’t go away. Sometimes that shark, he looks right into ya, right into your eyes. Y’know, the thing about a shark, he’s got lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a doll’s eyes. When he comes after ya, he doesn’t seem to be livin’ until he bites ya, and those black eyes roll over white, and then - aww, then you hear that terrible high-pitch screamin’, the ocean turns red, and in spite of all the poundin’ and the hollerin’, they all come in and rip ya to pieces...”)

(”As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster. To me, being a gangster was better than being President of the United States...Even before I first wandered into the cabstand for an after-school job, I knew I wanted to be a part of them. It was there that I knew that I belonged. To me, it meant being somebody in a neighborhood that was full of nobodies. They weren’t like anybody else. I mean, they did whatever they wanted. They double-parked in front of a hydrant and nobody ever gave them a ticket. In the summer when they played cards all night, nobody ever called the cops”)

(”So that was Mrs. Lundegaard on the floor in there. And I guess that was your accomplice in the wood chipper. And those three people in Brainerd. And for what? For a little bit of money. There’s more to life than a little money, you know. Don’t you know that? And here ya are, and it’s a beautiful day. Well, I just don’t understand it.”)

(”Look! The moonlight shows us for what we really are! We are not among the living so we cannot die, but neither are we dead! For too long I’ve been parched of thirst and unable to quench it. Too long I’ve been starving to death and haven’t died. I feel nothing. Not the wind on my face nor the spray of the sea, nor the warmth of a woman’s flesh. You best start believing in ghost stories, Miss Turner. You’re in one!”)

I’ve pulled all the Christmas decor out to rearrange better..I need the closet for other things..I haven’t been on FR since just after noon. I can’t figure out exactly how I want to do this so it’s a slow moving project.

Raising Arizona. It’s on my top 5 list of favorite movies. The Coen brothers did it. Anything by the Coens is well worth watching.

My favorite John Wayne quote was from Big Jake. He responds to the question, “I thought you were dead,” three times in the film with the words, “not hardly.”

Each utterance was more threatening than the previous and the last thing the questioner ever heard.

I get rousted out of my sleep sometimes when Nature calls. I find there’s something frightening ‘bout that hour of the night ‘cause there ain’t no foolin’ yourself ‘bout what you done or what you hadn’t done with your life.

I regret trifling with married women, I’m thoroughly ashamed at cheating at cards, I deplore my occasional departures from the truth, Forgive me for taking your name in vain, my Saturday drunkenness, my Sunday Sloth. Above all, forgive me for the men I’ve killed in anger, and those I am about to...

You’re either a part of the problem, part of the solution or part of the landscape.

It’s a funny thing, no matter how low you sink there’s still a right and wrong.... and you always end up choosing. You can go one way so you can try to live with yourself. You can go the other and still be walking around..... but you’re dead and you don’t know it.

You gonna pull them pistols or whistle dixie?

What do you expect us to die of, old age?

There is no normal life. There’s just life.

The devil has come to Tsavo.

Ah, hell. We played a rough game... and we lost.

She’s alive Frank. The snakes dead.

To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women.

It took me three hours to figure out that FU meant Felix Unger.

It is your corrupt we claim......With every breath, we shall hunt them down.

Oh I’ll remember it joe. That’s about all I’m going to do the rest of my life is go around remembering your name.

I am completely out of ammo... that’s never happened to me before.

Gabriel Feraud: I knew a man who was stabbed to death by a woman, gave him the surprise of his life.

Laura: I once knew a woman who was beaten to death by a man. I don’t think it surprised her at all.

There they are. Quotes form most of my favorite movies. Anyone that can name them all wins the internet.

‘nother good Mel Gibson line, from Quigley Down Under

“I said I don’t like to use it...not that I couldn’t.”

That was Tom Selleck.

Major Thomas: Tell me, Mr. Robertson what was Lt Hancock's reason for putting Boer prisoners on open cattle cars on the trains.
Capt. Robertson: Well the Boers had been mining the lines and blowing up a lot of trains. He thought it might stop them.
Major Thomas: Well did it?
[Robertson looks at the prosecutor]
Major Thomas: Did it?
Capt. Robertson: Yes, but I don't think...

Today's FEEBLE

YOKE:

All of his life George, a blond male from Newfoundland had heard stories of a family tradition. It seems that his father and grandfather had been able to walk on water on their 21st birthday. On that day, they'd walk across the lake to the boat club for their first legal drink.

So when George's 21st birthday came around, he and his pal Corky took a boat out to the middle of the lake. George stepped out of the boat and nearly drowned! Corky just managed to pull him to safety.

Furious and confused, George went to see his grandmother. "Grandma, it's my 21st birthday, so why can't I walk across the lake like my father and his father before him?"

Granny looked into George's big blue eyes and said, "Because, you dumb ass, your father, grandfather and great grandfather were born in January, you were born in July."
