"AUSTIN — The first prayer ever by a Muslim cleric in the Texas Senate will be delivered today — outraging some conservatives because it is occurring just before Easter. The invocation will be delivered by the Imam Yusuf Kavakci of the Dallas Central Mosque at the invitation of state Sen. Florence Shapiro, R-Plano. Shapiro is Jewish."

Say it ain’t so, Texas! I’m sure it’ll be a Kumbayah political prayer. Afterall, asking allah for the strength to sever the fingertips of all the infidels surrounding him probably wouldn’t benefit the one offering the prayer very much. Having those faithful to islam involved in U.S. law-making in any form saddens me. Afterall, their “god” makes certain demands that are not in our best interest.
