“Islamists attack Nigeria police”

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Armed members of a Nigerian Islamist group known as the Taleban have stormed a police station in the northern city of Kano, killing at least 13 people.

A police source told the BBC there were between 300 and 500 people, some of whom were heavily armed.

The army has been sent in and police have evacuated the area.”

University of Pennsylvania police officer struggled with a carjacker who tried to take his gun and shot him dead.

The man, whom police did not immediately identify, forced the driver out of a van at gunpoint yesterday. Police say the man drove up on a sidewalk, struck a pedestrian, sped along the street and eventually lost control of the van, crashing into four parked cars.
