“British Islamists’ Cyber Camouflage”
Dominic Whiteman - 4/18/2007

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “The Internet is a big place. But those radical Islamists who use the Internet to try to recruit, attract and grow – however much they try to conceal their true aims – will always be watched, translated and transcribed. As for their search engine camouflage – back to the drawing board, lads……”

“Indonesian dead in U.S. campus massacre”

The Jakarta Post, Jakarta

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “The ghastly events at Virginia Tech University in the United States hit home Tuesday when it was revealed that an Indonesian student was among the foreign nationals killed in Monday’s massacre.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Kristiarto Soeryo Legowo told The Jakarta Post that he had received confirmation that a male Indonesian civil engineering student pursuing his post-graduate studies at the university was among the 33 dead.

He would immediately reveal the name, saying that authorities were in the process of contacting the student’s next of kin in Indonesia.

The Post separately confirmed that the student’s family is based in Medan, North Sumatra, and that the deceased, the youngest of two children, was a graduate of the Parahyangan University in Bandung.”

Muslims Forcing Christian Assyrians in Baghdad to Pay ’Protection Tax’

By Michael Ireland
Chief Correspondent, ASSIST News Service

BAGHDAD, IRAQ (ANS) — Evidence has emerged that Muslims are forcing the Christian Assyrians in the Dora Neighborhood of Baghdad to pay the jizya, the ‘Protection Tax’ demanded from Christians and Jews by Islamic law.

AINA, the Assyrian International News Agency, has obtained testimony from two residents of Dora and an observer in Iraq about the required payment of the tax. The names of those who gave information to AINA have been withheld to protect the safety of the individuals concerned.
An observer in Baghdad told AINA that elements of Al-Qaeda have moved into Dora from Anbar. “No security forces are to be seen there, it seems to be abandoned by both Iraqi and Coalition.”

The observer said that in Hay Al-Mechaneek (which is in Dora across the bridge) people have been warned by these insurgents to uninstall the satellite dishes “since this is ‘Haram’ (forbidden) in Islam.

“In Dora where Christians live in Hay Al-Mualimeen [Teachers quarter] and Hay Al-Athorieen [Assyrian quarter] is where they are telling people to convert, leave, (and) pay ‘Jizya’ taxation.”

An e-mail from a resident in Dora says the practice of demanding the jizya has been going on for the past week, and started even before Easter.

“We talked to many people within the American Embassy and Iraqi Government, but it seems no body really cares, because they have done nothing, or sometimes I wonder if they care at all,” the e-mail says.

It adds: “Neither the Iraqi nor the US army have any activity there, and they have delivered Dora to insurgents; and above all the US army went and put a camp in the Chaldean church (Babylon Theology College) to raise the hate among those Muslims toward Christians, as they are seeing them (as) allies for Americans, and that worsen things more.”

A refugee in Syria, who formerly lived in Dora, stated: “Yes it is true, today a family [name withheld] arrived from Dora/Mualimeen street, and they said some terrorists knocked on their door, and when they opened the door they were told to either pay money (jizya) to support the insurgents or convert to Islam, or leave the house within 24 hours or else be killed.”

Underground Church Worker Beheaded in Kashmir

By Michael Ireland
Chief Correspondent, ASSIST News Service

KASHMIR, INDIA (ANS) — An active member of the Salem Voice Ministries underground House Church in Kashmir was brutally murdered on Saturday, April 14, according to news sources in India.

Manzoor Ahmad Chat, 33, was beheaded by Hizbul militants on Saturday before dawn. Local police recovered the head and the remains of his body from Gundi Pora and Pinglana villages in Pulwama District. Manzoor and his family became believers in Jesus Christ after converting from Islam and regularly attended prayer services held by the SVM (Underground) House Church. He was a prayer leader in the house church.

Manzoor was employed by the Government as a lineman of the Power Development Department (PDD) in the Kakapora area. On Friday he was traveling by scooter to carry out his duties. While he was going he met two believers and reminded them about the prayer meetings, but on the way he was kidnapped by the militants, according to police reports.

On Saturday, people in the village of Pinglena found Manzoor’s headless body in a nearby paddy field. They also found the head kept in a polythene bag near the mosque.

According to SVM, militants had planned to kill him earlier. A gun battle between militants and armed forces had taken place at Manzoor’s house last year. Reports say Manzoor seemed to have been brutally tortured and finally slaughtered to death.

Police registered a case and investigations have been launched. The dead body has been handed over to the family following a post mortem. Police also say they killed two leaders of the militant group Leshkar-e-Toyiba.

Rev. Paul Ciniraj, the President of the Christian Ministers of the Churches in India (CMCI) and also the Director of the Salem Voice Ministries, condemned the murder. He also praised the State and Central governments for taking quick action against terrorists and the continuous fight against terrorism.

The Daily News and Analysis, India (www.dnaindia.com) , also carried a report of the murder, as does The Hindu,(DNA)Online edition of India’s National Newspaper at www.hindu.com.

The DNA report says suspected militants brutally killed a government employee by beheading him after chopping off his ears, nose and tongue in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, according to official sources.

A human head, kept in a polythene bag, was recovered by police near a mosque at Pinglana village in the district, official sources said.

Following the recovery of the head, police launched a massive search in the area, which led to the recovery of torso from a nearby field, they said. The deceased was identified as Manzoor Ahmad Chat, a lineman in the Power development department. He was believed to have been abducted by militants and later beheaded.

Please pray for Manzoor’s widow and children.

Four months ago evangelist and campaigner Basheer Ahamed Tantry, who was also a government employed engineer, was shot dead in Kashmir in public during the day.

Also, Pastor Ashir of the SVM Underground Church in Kupwara in Kashmir was severely attacked last month.

Jihadists: “Germans will always be targets for kidnappings all over the world until the German government pulls its troops out (of Afghanistan)”
“Islamists: Germans will be kidnapped,” from UPI:

BERLIN, April 17, 2007 (UPI) — Concerns are rising about the growing number of terror threats against Germany, formerly a country spared from Islamist violence. Ever since the abduction of two Germans in Baghdad, the Islamists have stepped up the rhetorical warfare against Berlin.
Obviously, it won’t stop there.

In a video message to the German TV show “Spiegel TV,” the Global Islamic Media Front, or GIMF — a German language Web site that has in the past posted Islamist videos — said that more Germans will be abducted in the future. The GIMF said it was relaying the message in the name of the kidnappers of the two German hostages in Iraq.

The kidnappers wanted to tell Berlin that “even if the two Germans are killed, Germans will always be targets for kidnappings all over the world until the German government pulls its troops out (of Afghanistan),” German news magazine Der Spiegel quoted from the message.

It remains unclear whether the Web site hosts are really in contact with the kidnappers; they have in the past posted and edited the kidnappers’ video messages to the government.

Berlin-born Hannelore Kraus, 61, and her son were snatched in early February by armed men who entered their home in Baghdad, where the woman has lived since she had married an Iraqi professor. A crisis team has been set up in the German Foreign Ministry to get the pair released. Already, two ultimatums threatening their lives have run out.

University of Pennsylvania police officer struggled with a carjacker who tried to take his gun and shot him dead.

Amtrak engineer dragged off train, assaulted

Interesting, not even mentioned to any degree locally. I wonder if there are some anti-RR folk in the area. Last month we had a RR trestle burned down suspiciously and now this. Hmmmmmm

This is absolutely not good and should be covered nationally.
It smacks of something that would happen in a third world country.
