Of course the don't want Iran to think they are hoping for the US to invade. If that were the case Iran might not pay them for the reactor they are building.
I hope for Russia's sake they got a good part of the money up front on the reactor, because even if we don't destroy it, Iran is going to be pissed with Russia for not being able to pressure us into not attacking.

Sadly as much as such a military action against Iran is needed, any attempt by President Bush to do so would result in his immediate impeachment by the rabid Democrats and white flag Republicans in Congress.

I wish the Russian report was true. Unfortunately, or fortunately, the reborn Russian KGB is as often wrong as our CIA.
But we should not make the same mistake we made in Iraq. With Iran we should stand back and zap the few worthwhile targets with our air and naval power.
We should send in ground troops only to occupy and run the oilfields.
We should not take on Iraq to raise up again as we did Iraq. It seems the secret to national prosperity is to start a war with the U. S. -- and then lose.
I have often thought of buying an island off of North Carolina, declare independence and start a war with America so I could lose and then get foreign aid. But with the Democrats in power, I'd probably win.
