I think everyone here is more pro-candidate of their choice than the general population. At this point, most of the general population doesn't support one candidate over the other, some of them just sound better than others to them if you ask.
I don't think that FR is as insular as you believe it to be because we have a broad-based cross section of conservative voters living across the US and even around the world posting here. I think the amount of opposition you see to Rudy here is going to closely correlate with the opposition he will have nationwide when this race really heats up. I think that Rudy's supporters are sticking their heads in the sand in denial over it.
If FR isn't as insular as I think, how do you explain that freepers from all across the country voted in large numbers for Alan Keyes to be the candidate in 2001 and yet across the country in the real world he never registered in polls beyond some marginal percentage? I'm amused that you think that's some kind of strawman argument.
And I must say that judging by the people I've talked to at our local GOP meetings, the people who support Rudy strongly support him. That's a pretty insular group too.
You have no way of knowing how strongly people are supporting Rudy across the country and neither do I. But judging by his positioning in the polls, how strongly he is supported by people I know and by me, I think you're wrong.
Regardless, you've now spent an inordinate amount of time trying to defend another freeper's post which said that Rudy fans here are more pro Rudy than the rest of the population. That freeper didn't even defend her own post and try as you might, all you can offer is your opinion in this matter, not facts. Which is fine. But let's not pretend that you have any hard data to back up that opinion.
