Steve Forbes Joins Giuliani Campaign

Steve Forbes, former Republican presidential candidate, President and Chief Executive Officer of Forbes, and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes magazine has endorsed Rudy Giuliani for President of the United States. Mr. Forbes will serve as a National Campaign Co-Chair and Senior Policy Advisor:

“I am honored to support Rudy Giuliani for President,” Steve Forbes said. “As Mayor of New York City, Rudy Giuliani showed how exercising fiscal discipline – including tax cuts – lowers deficits, spurs economic growth, and increases revenue. It is time the rest of the country benefit from a true fiscal conservative leader who gets real results.”

“Steve and I share an economic vision that embraces supply-side economics, tax relief, and spending restraint,” said Mayor Giuliani. “I look forward to working with Steve and am proud to have him as a member of our team.”

Nice addition, as those of us who value economic liberty certainly look to Mr. Forbes as a leader on that front.

You can post any mistake a fallible human being may have made.

I love it. Now serious lapses in judgement by Rudy, lapses that call into question his fitness as a commander-in-chief for the WOT, are fallable mistakes?

Sounds like Clintonspeak to me.

You Rudy boosters want it both ways - where Rudy has done well, it is grounds to judge him as a leader. Where he screwed up big-time, it's just a mistake.

If the perfect human being shows up to run, with a resume of proven accomplishments, I may reevaluate my support.

More Clintonspeak. My gawd, does Rudy bear NO RESPONSIBILITY for the Kerik fiasco? Or should we just move on?

The bottom line for me, unlike you, is that I lived in NYC before and through most of the Giuliani Administration

The new bottom line is, I really didn't care who ran NYC - I had the choice not to live there. But now Rudy wants to run the country, so I'm damn sure not going to overlook his serious lapses in judgement and his bullheaded inability to listen to advisors regarding the ECC - because he now looks to impact MY LIFE.

Steve Forbes is "toast"?

No, no, I did understand your silly comment, but thought that I'd show you up in the "silly" department.

Oh, I'm watching in absolute amazement at the people being thrown under the bus for their support of Rudy.

This from someone who has spent considerable effort trying to throw the Reagan legacy under the bus to make Rudy look more conservative.

You can dish it out, but you can't take it.

This is yet another great endorsement. Forbes is a good guy and I've always liked his flat tax idea.

its a technical obstacle. firefighters want a short reach band so they can talk locally "on the scene" at a fire, they want a long range band so they can communicate with stations, headquarters, and trucks in motion. the police want the same setup, separate from the firemen. and then they want bands where they can talk between the services (police and fire). and then they want all of this stuff - to be able to work inside skyscrapers in manhattan.

that's the problem.

Is it because Rudy Julie Annie looks better in drag than Steve Forbe's wife.

It doesn't have to be GOP conservative platform or something more inclusive.

Newt's platform ideas, for instance, didn't even take time to mention one sentence about abortion. Oh, some freeper will be along to say that the platform wasn't detailed about any social issues, but we all know that's a lie because welfare was certainly mentioned and if ever there was a social/fiscal issue, it's welfare.

It's only been in recent years that the GOP started to pander to a certain group of social conservatives and it hasn't worked out terribly well for the Republicans. Social conservatives are often my way or the highway people and seem terribly naive about politics in general. Most of us understand that there are lots of kinds of conservatives and that we'll never get 100% of what we want and just vote for the person who represents most of what we want.

As well, the politicians who are most indebted to social conservatives seem to be the kind of politicians who think that Christianity requires that one turn the other cheek when getting kicked in the a** by Democrats and the media. I've never seen a Republican party so filled with weenies who don't defend their philosophies or the administration.

And a leader overcomes the obstacles to get a key system upgraded. You're making excuses for Rudy. Real leaders don't need excuses made for them - they either get it done or take the blame for failure.

You always were too stupid to know what the examples and analogies to what Reagan did vs. what today's Republicans are doing meant. No one is surprised at that.

Really reaching, huh?

*sniff* *sniff* What's that smell....desperation?

LOL, there's a long way to go, so go ahead and do your best to beat him in the primary - if you can.

But a word of caution: Everybody who's anybody knows everything there is to know about Rudy.

To win, you'll need to find a very high-profile candidate that fits every single one of your criteria for a nominee - and I don't think he's out there.

Ted Olson is a moron. It was his wife, Barbara, who was smart. Just because he has been elevated to high positions, does not equate to her intelligence.

Too stupid. I love it.

Should I bring up all your logical and research failings that you pursued in your attacks on Reagan's pro-life legacy? Who's stupid now?

Drama Queen. Your personal attack that you always resort to when confronted with your myriad logical fallocies and failed research. Tell it to someone who cares. Maybe Salt River is having a group hug at the moment.

Exactly so! If there was one thing that was so refreshing, about Forbes' presidential run, it was his financial grasp and how America could defeat Dem socialism through good, knowledgeable financial reforms.

His support will also be quite good, for Rudy, re fund raising.

You have your little daily meltdown all by yourself. I have to leave for a while and will just smile thinking that my candidate is #1 while your candidate(s) is barely a blip on the radar screen.

My gawd, does Rudy bear NO RESPONSIBILITY for the Kerik fiasco?

Your arguments are all so similar, I'll pick one.

Fiasco? WOW. Who died?

Kerik was highly competent. He was also a crook.

Was Giuliani supposed to know what is hidden in the soul?

Is you candidate THE SHADOW? Bush looked into Putin's soul and got it wrong.

Bush also picked Kerik. He was just lucky that Kerik was exposed when he was. If you're going to respond that he did it on Giuliani's say so (for one think it says Giuliani can persuade Presidents, a good thing in my opinion) then it's an indictment of Bush for not doing his own due diligence. See no one is perfect.

Crooks aren't crooks until they slip up and are caught.

Fiasco my as*.

I also support Fred's entry into the race. The guy last seen taking 13 points off your guys's support without even entering the race. Keep smiling all the way down to the #2 position.
