To all whose hearts are with the Serbian peoples concerning Kosovo: Here is a direct action request by the Serbian Caucus in Washington, D.C. Serbian Unity Congress and Congressional Serbian Caucas is asking every Serbian American to write a letter to their representative encouraging them not to support independence of Kosovo either with H.RES 36, or by circumventing Security Council of the U.N. Even if you are not Serbian American, but you are Christian and value our Christian derived democratic ideals and values, and are ashamed of the missteps we have made in the past concerning civil rights of peoples and sovereign rights of countries we urge you to write your senators and representatives urging them to Not support Independence of Kosovo. Currently the United States is in support of independence at the Demand of Muslim backed Insurgents from Iran, from Saudi Arabia and other areas in the Middle East, the same people we are supposedly fighting in the MiddleEast. Additionaly we ask all Orthodox to say an Akathist for NO Independence For Kosovo or to light a candle as well. Below is email sent from Serbian Unity Congress. Also when you call your representatives mention the petition at http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/905791187. When I called my representatives and mentioned the petition it really made a difference in how they responded to me. I finally got a very long letter from Sen. Gordon Smith saying he would consider my comments when this matter came before Congress.:

Dear Xenia, Ivana and Jennifer,

We had the Serbian Caucus briefing earlier today. Co-Chairs of the Serbian Caucus Congresswoman Bean D-IL and Congressman Burton R-IN told us if every Serbian American in this country writes a letter to the President and to respective Representatives, we could change something regarding Kosovo.

CBN network representing Pat Robertson is very anti Orthodox ,calls the Russian church a “communist” church, and broadcasts lies about Serbian “misdeeds” in Kosovo. THey have not once condemned the destruction of (Orthodox) Christian heritage in Kosovo or mistreatment of Serbs at the hands of the U.S./NATO. Might be incompatible with their “patriotism” I guess..Bottom line, except for a tiny minority, few Western “Christians” care about the Orthodox.
